BHS Happenings

We are looking forward to a fun filled Homecoming Spirit Week, next week at BHS. Spirit Week is a great opportunity for all of our students to get involved and showcase their school spirit. We hope to see all of our Warhawk fans at the Homecoming Game to cheer on our Warhawks as they take on Lewis Mills!

Quarter 1 will end next week at BHS on October 29th. October Parent Teacher Conferences will be on October 30-31st and we encourage all of our parents to sign up for a time slot and conference with their child's teachers on their Quarter 1 progress and grades. Light refreshments will be served during conferences.

Student dismissal will be at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of next week. Students should leave the school building following dismissal. Teachers will not be available to meet with students during Parent Teacher Conferences.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held October 30 -31, 2024 . This is a great opportunity to conference with your child's teachers at the end of Quarter 1. Below is the schedule for conferences:

• October 30th: 12:45 - 2:50 p.m.
• October 30th: 5:00 - 7:30 p.m.
• October 31st: 12:45 - 2:50 p.m.

Conferences will be in person, but we ask all parents to register for their time slots on My Conference Time, so teachers can better prepare to discuss your child. If you need for your conference to be virtual, please reach out to the teacher prior to your scheduled conference to make arrangements for a virtual option. You can schedule meetings with all of your child's teachers or just select ones. Time Slots for conferences are ten minutes. Parents who do not register on My Conference Time, will have to wait for an available slot to conference, as those previously scheduled will take priority. My Conference Time will be open for sign ups on Monday, October 21st at 7:00 a.m.

Homecoming Spirit Week is October 28 - November 2, 2024 at BHS! It is a fun filled week filled with a daily dress down theme. Spirit Week dress downs are $2 per day or $8 for the entire week. On Friday, there will be a Pep Rally during school followed by the Homecoming Football Game vs Lewis Mills at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the game is $5 and all tickets are sold on Go Fan. No cash will be accepted at the gate. Spirit Week will conclude with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday from 7-11 p.m. The theme of the dance is Red Carpet and the cost is $10. Sophomore Junior College Planning Night will take place on Tuesday, November 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the BHS Library Media Center. We encourage all parents of sophomore and juniors to attend this important informational evening and learning more about the college process. Senior year will be here before you know it and it is best to be prepared with all the information you need regarding: the college application process, financial aid, finding the right college for your student, etc.

Girls Soccer:

• On Thursday, October 17th, BHS' Varsity Girls Soccer Team tied New Britain, 1-1. The goal for the Warhawks was scored by Senior, Indya Norman.
• On Tuesday, October 22nd, BHS' Varsity Girls Soccer Team defeated Windsor, 3-2. The goals for the Warhawks were scored by Indya Norman, Sarah Premier, and Arianna Reid.

Boys Soccer:

• On Friday, October 18th, BHS' Varsity Boys Soccer Team defeated Weaver, 3-0. All three goals for the Warhawks were scored by Sophomore, Ramone Cunningham.
• On Tuesday, October 22nd, BHS' Varsity Boys Soccer Team defeated Windsor, 1-0. The goal for the Warhawks was scored by Ramone Cunningham. Girls Volleyball:

• On Friday, October 18th, BHS' Varsity Girls Volleyball Team fell to Newington, 0-3.
• On Monday, October 21st, BHS' Varsity Girls Volleyball Team defeated Academy of International Studies, 3-2.
• On Tuesday, October 22nd, BHS' Varsity Girls Volleyball Team fell to Windsor, 0-3.

Football:

• On Friday, October 18th, BHS' Varsity Football Team defeated East Catholic, 46-19. Touchdowns for the Warhawks were scored by: Marlon Britton (3), Zion Banton (1), Zakyi Kimber (1), and Romar Heron (1).

Boys Cross Country:

• On Tuesday, October 22nd, BHS' Varsity Cross Country Team competed in a Time Trial vs Hillhouse High School. The top finisher in the 2 mile race for BHS was Charles Fennell and the top finisher in the 1 mile race for BHS was Jessie Singleton Jr.
