Wishing all of our Alto families a happy and healthy holiday break!
From the desk of Principal Papes
Dear Alto Families,
I continue to be blown away by the generosity and giving spirit of our school community! This is so evident in your children. They are so thoughtful and love to help others! We collected nearly 600 toys for Toys for Tots. Thank you to our Early Act student leadership group for organizing this toy drive to help brighten the lives of others during this holiday season. Also, THANK YOU to Mrs. Wobma and Mrs. Kamps for leading the Early Act student group. Our efforts were recognized in Lowell’s First Look this past week. Thank you for your generosity!

5th Graders To Schneider Manor
Our 5th graders demonstrated this giving spirit and brought some holiday cheer to Schneider Manor senior residents on Wednesday. They prepared cards and goodie bags to hand deliver to the residents. They also performed several songs they had prepared for this visit. It was a pleasure to see the joy this brought to our neighbors at Schneider Manor. The residents were so impressed with our students. I am sure seeing the bright, eager faces of our students gives them great optimism for the future. A big THANK YOU to our 5th grade teachers for helping to provide this opportunity to give to others.
LMS 8th Grade Band and Orchestra Visit
Lowell Middle School band and orchestra students performed for our students on Tuesday. They were very impressive! We’re so fortunate to have such quality band and orchestra programs in our district. It was wonderful to see past Alto students again! This was a great experience for our students. We asked them to pay special attention to all of the instruments to start thinking about if they might want to play an instrument when they transition to LMS in 6th grade.
Michigan Schools School Index Score
We are pleased to share our recent score from the state of 98.94 out of 100. Like the recent US News ranking, this is a great accomplishment and a tribute to our incredible students, parents, and staff! Congratulations to our entire school community!
