BEING ON TIME
Our doors open at 7:05am
Please arrive on time (preferably before 7:30am) every day for your student to join their class and begin their day.
ATTENDANCE
ATTENDANCE MATTERS ALL DAY, EVERYDAY
Regular and punctual school attendance is essential for school success. Attendance increases student achievement and improves the quality of their educational experience. It prepares them for college, good careers, and successful adulthood. Texas Compulsory Attendance Law requires students to attend school regularly, unless otherwise exempted by law. It is the responsibility of the parent and student to cooperate and communicate with the school on all attendance matters.
Our school will be raffling 4 bikes for Perfect Attendance. All students can participate and must be present everyday starting Dec. 2nd - Dec. 19th. The raffle will be held on Dec. 19th. Parents, please make sure your students are coming to school everyday!
The district will take official attendance every day at: Elementary School Campuses: 9:30 a.m.
ABSENCE DOCUMENTATION
A parent must provide an explanation for any absence upon the student’s arrival or return to school. The student must submit a note signed by the parent or from an entity included in the exemptions under the compulsory attendance laws. The campus may accept a phone call from the parent but reserves the right to require a written note. The campus will document in its attendance records whether the absence is excused or unexcused.
Note: The district is not required to excuse any absence, even if the parent provides a note explaining the absence, unless the absence is an exemption under compulsory attendance laws.
ATTENDANCE LETTERS
If you are receiving letters for attendance, these are generated and sent out once a student's attendance reaches a certain number in Skyward. If you feel there is an error with your student's attendance please reach out to to our Registrar Ms. Santacruz so that we can correct the error.
ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Arrival:
Our doors open at 7:05am.
Our tardy bell rings at 7:30am
If arriving after 7:35, parents are required to sign their students in the front office.
Dismissal Procedures:
School dismissal is at 2:50pm.
Car Riders : Parents/Guardians of Car Riders will need a “car rider tag” visible in the front windshield of the car. Please contact your student's teacher if you need one. To ensure the safety of our students, if someone without a tag tries to pick up a student they will be asked to park in visitor parking and report to the office to check out the student with a valid Identification. If your student is a car rider- you have to pick up in the car rider line. No exceptions. Please stay in your vehicle while waiting for your student in the car loop. Thank you for understanding.
Parent Walk-Ups: Students will be on the blue picnic tables in the front of the school. To help ensure the safety of our students, we will not release students in the car rider area to parent walk-ups. Please have an ID ready to show teachers and staff before your student is released to go home.
Please contact the office prior to 2:00pm if you need to change your child’s method of going home. No changes will be made after 2:00 pm to ensure safety of our students. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Doctors Appointments: If your students appointment will be in the afternoon, please pick up your student before 2pm. We will contact the teacher to send your student to the office when you arrive.

Parent & Community Partnerships
Thank you for your willingness to give your time and talent to serve as a volunteer in our schools. Your personal commitment provides our students with a valuable role model of responsible citizenship and impacts student achievement in a positive way, whether directly or indirectly.
National research shows that it is important for our youth to have at least three non-parent adults whom they can trust. With your help, our young people can overcome adversity, succeed in school, and become community leaders.
Volunteers are a much-appreciated and highly respected group of people who make up a very important part of our educational team. The educators and staff have witnessed firsthand the magic of volunteer partnerships between our community and its schools. Volunteers can read to students, tutor in a particular subject area, work in the library, or assist with special events. There is almost no end to opportunities as a volunteer.
Whether you serve as a parent, grandparent, business representative, or community member, your participation in all volunteer endeavors is essential in developing our greatest asset - our youth. We salute you, not only for your interest but for your action! We hope your experience as a volunteer will be rewarding and that your life will be richer for the time you spend with our children.
