We had a blast in October, thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers!

A few weeks ago, we sent out parent surveys to get your input in the areas of faith formation, academic expectations, and safe environment. I truly appreciate everyone who took the time to complete this survey for us. I have read your feedback and found some very useful nuggets of information. I will use the information you provided to continue growing HTCS for our children.

I want to briefly share a few takeaways. In regard to the school's overall communication process. You seem to be pleased with the direction we are moving, however, you requested that we communicate more directly and less on social media. We are currently planning a PTO meeting for November 14th, and I hope to see you there. PTO meetings are the best way for us to communicate directly with you about the state of the school and upcoming events.

You also requested more text messages for your phone. I typically send out emails more frequently than texts, because our text messages are limited by 280 spaces(characters). To assist with getting information out, I want to make certain that everyone is aware that we have a School Event Calendar on our webpage that is in Google Calendar format. This calendar is filled with all school events for the entire school year and is monitored and updated (if necessary) monthly to ensure accuracy. Social media is only used as a courtesy or convenience to remind parents of events as they come each week, not to inform parents of events. This parent newsletter has a lot of information but is also intended to be a quick reference for parents as the month goes by.

Above all, our teachers and staff are committed to the spiritual and academic growth of all of our children. I humbly ask that you continue to support and pray for our school. Please know that we are striving to meet the needs of a diverse community, and we understand that clear communication is the foundation of our success.

Of most importance, as we move into the holiday season, we want to encourage all of our families to ensure Jesus is at the center of our thoughts, prayers, and actions. The holidays bring food drives, Adoration, Advent, Cookies with Santa, and many other opportunities for parents to get involved in our school.

Gratitude is the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful. Being able to recognize and appreciate the good things in your life can lead to increased happiness and life satisfaction. For children especially, learning how to be thankful can help in the development of interpersonal skills, including the ‘big’ one – empathy. Gratitude lends itself to expanding our worldview. When we are thankful for even the small things, we are thinking of more than just ourselves; we are thinking about how all of us have the ability to positively impact another’s life. Gratitude is powerful!​ Below are a few ways you can practice the virtue of Gratitude with your family.

• After everyone says Grace and prayers of thanksgiving at dinner, share one thing you are grateful for from the day. You could also have a themed night such as Thankful Thursdays where everyone shares what they are thankful for.
  
• Think about a time that someone has been especially kind to you and was not properly thanked. Write a short note to that person to express your thankfulness for their kindness. Think how great that will make the recipient feel!
  
• During a walk or drive, have your family members point out things they are grateful for. You can even make this into an "I Spy" game.
  
• When sibling rivalry or other conflicts arise in the family, have each person share aloud 3 things they are grateful for about the other person.
• Talk about a character from a movie or book that experiences hardships but is also grateful for things. Try to name additional things the character could be grateful for.

It’s officially Fall!

PTO and Room Parents were busy in October planning our annual Fall Fest, and it seems like the general consensus was that this was our best one yet! We want to recognize the Fall Fest Parent Chair, Kellie Munsch, and her helpers, Gretchen Ross and Page Forrest, for working tirelessly to create an event that the kids are still talking about! There were so many wonderful additions this year that are definitely going to be annual staples, and none of it would be possible without the help of our parents and volunteers who come together each year to put it on.

Much of Fall Fest and other fun activities that PTO puts on through the first semester is funded by our smaller fundraising events that happen through Christmas. We wanted to share with you what your contributions and participation has brought in so far to make these things a reality for our kids!

Our first Silent Auction donations and Sponsorships have begun to make their way in to the school! Our Homeroom Leader right now for our class competition is Mrs. Raymond’s Kindergarten Class… but you have until December 1 to take the lead and win your homeroom an ice cream party at Creole Creamery!

Sponsorship and Silent Auction Donation Forms will be added to the school website this month, so be on the lookout for those if you need extra copies. You will also be able to purchase your Aloha Room Drawdown Tickets and Admission Tickets through the website as well! We hope this makes things easier for you!

The Aloha Room Drawdown Tickets are already beginning to sell, so be sure to grab yours early so you don’t miss your chance to win the $10,000 Hawaii Vacation!

COOKIES WITH SANTA

If you haven’t already, mark your calendars for Sunday, December 3, and bring your family and friends out for Cookies with Santa at the OLG Community Center after 10:30 mass! Santa will be on site for photos, cookies, and refreshments will be plentiful, and Christmas crafts and activities for all ages will be happening! There is a sign-up genius coming out soon for anyone who would like to volunteer to help with this festive community event!

School officially starts at 8:00 a.m. daily and will end at 3:00 p.m. daily.

BEFORE CARE:

Students who arrive between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. will be monitored by a designated teacher or staff member.

AFTER CARE:

Holy Trinity offers an After School Care Program from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. The cost is $180 per child, $250 for 2 children, $300 for 3 or more. Daily drop-in charge of $12. A $5.00 late fee will be assessed when children are not picked up on time. An information sheet and application may be obtained in the school office.
