Thoughts from Dr. Voelkl, Mrs. Winkler and your SCB Faculty and Staff,
Thoughts from Dr. Voelkl...
WELCOME BACK! We are sincerely grateful for everyone's patience, flexibility and hard work during last week's virtual return! We cannot wait to see everyone in person tomorrow. The month ahead is a busy one for us as we prepare for Catholic Schools Week, Open House and registration for the 2021-2022 school year.
Next week each family will receive a copy of our Open House postcard. There will also be yard signs available for display in the office. Our Open House format will look a bit different this year as we would still like to give new families to see the physical space while also adhering to important safety protocols and procedures. Families will have the opportunity to sign-up for a time to visit and tour the school on two separate weekends this year.
In addition to spreading the word we are also in need of help on these Open House Days. It is always a fun opportunity to share our story and spend some time with your Saint Charles Borromeo family. There are no prerequisites for being a tour guide with the exception of a love for SCB and a welcoming heart. Our students and teachers will guide you through the rest. Thank you in advance for your time and support!
Open House also marks the start of Catholic Schools Week. More details regarding the schedule for this week will be sent shortly. We are very proud of our Catholic school and the work and dedication put into serving our families. As we prepare to invite new families in and celebrate SCB, we are also excited to return to the discussion and planning for the growth and expansion of our physical campus. More details to come but even with the dawn of COVID our need for additional classrooms and learning spaces has not gone by the wayside. This is an exciting time for the future of SCB!
Second quarter report cards will be available for Parent Viewing today. As this is not a scheduled conference time, PLEASE feel free to reach out to your child's teacher or any of our special area teachers should you have any questions or concerns once you have received this information. We ENJOY the opportunity to work WITH each of you to ensure the best overall experience for your child/children. At the start of this school year one of our goals as an institution was to begin the process of revamping our report card documents and reporting process. Alas, we are now in the beginning stages of talking and discussing as a family how best to record, report and share student growth and progress.
As we move through this month please keep our 8th grade students who will be participating in their Luke 18 retreat in your prayers, as well as all of those working to plan and prepare this faith experience for them.
Continued prayers to all of our families as we continue to move through these cold winter months.
Blessings for warmth and peace,
Your SCB family

*** To follow up on the email that was sent out earlier this week, we want to stress the importance of masks. Masks must have a minimum of two layers. Most Gators do not have two layers, so please do not have your child wear them. We have also found that students who wear the Gators do not consistently wear them properly. Not wearing masks or gators properly WILL result in students being quarantined. We would REALLY like to eliminate Gators when we return after Christmas.
Good options for masks (but not limited to):

PLEASE go to FACTS and fill out the medical portion of each child. It is very important for us to know about your child. Please let us know any medication they may take in the morning- ADHD, Allergy, etc
