A Note from Mrs. Shostachuk 01/15/2023

Dear Central Road Families:

Happy 2023! At the start of a new calendar year, we reflect on people and things we are grateful for. We thank you for being a part of this amazing, committed CR community. We are lucky to be witnesses to each child's growth, from arriving without tears to solving fraction problems to comprehending more difficult texts. We are proud of everyone's growth, and we look forward to more success in 2023. Thank you for taking time to read our weekly communication. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out for support and/or clarification. Please note that there is no school on Monday, January 16th and Tuesday, January 17th. We look forward to welcoming back students & staff on Wednesday, January 18th.

January Behavior Expectations Refresh

]When we returned from break this week, every school in the district reviewed school-wide expectations and engaged in station rotations, where students visited locations throughout the school and discussed appropriate behavior and expectations, such as the hallway, bathroom, and lunchroom. Classroom teachers also reviewed behavior expectations and classroom routines.

You can support this work at home as well!

Feel free to have a conversation with your child about school behavior expectations. Talk about what it looks and sounds like to be respectful, responsible, and safe at school, on the bus, on the playground, in the lunchroom, and in the hallway. Small reminders, support, and encouragement about behavior can have a big impact.

We are excited to share that our PTA is sponsoring an assembly for our students on February 6th. Prismatic Magic will be on site in the afternoon to entertain our students. If for some reason your child is not able to participate, please contact Mrs. Shostachuk directly by February 2nd. Thank You

A Note from Mrs. Kathy

Happy New Year! It is my hope that everyone enjoyed their holidays and had a wonderful time off. Just a few reminders. Please be aware of where it is and isn’t permissible to park. Please be aware of the “No Parking” signs and, for those who are not aware, a yellow curb means “No Parking.” It is also not permissible to park facing in the wrong direction, especially in a “No Parking” area. Let’s just do it right and there will be no problems and also a reminder that at the exit to the school driveway, there is still a STOP sign. I have seen way too many vehicles exiting without slowing down or even looking. Please note you do not have the right of way in this situation. I really do appreciate those that take the time to read this every month. I even see some drivers following some of my suggestions. Thank you so much!

A Note from our Health Office

Please kindly report any illnesses like strep, flu, pink eye, rsv, and/or covid to the Nurse's Office when confirmed by a doctor. Thank you for keeping your child(ren) at home when not feeling well. We continue to encourage consistent hand washing at school. Please email me with any questions related to your child's health needs at school. Thank you so much!
