Americanism Essay Contest Winner!
The American Legionnaire Auxiliary holds the Americanism Essay Contest every year for students in grades 3-12. The essay gives students the opportunity to explore and understand the many facets of America and patriotism. The 2024 Americanism Essay Contest's title was āWhat does freedom mean to me?ā Edgewood Middle School student Abha Routh won first place in the Essay competition. Congratulations on this great accomplishment!
Curriculum Advisory Committee
The Mounds View Public Schools Curriculum Advisory Committee is seeking representatives to serve on the committee for the 2024-2025 school year. Committee members work in partnership with the district and community to gain knowledge and provide feedback about curriculum and other instructional issues. If you are interested in applying to be a part of the CAC, please complete the Mounds View Curriculum Advisory Application. The application will close on Friday, October 4.

Jostens Picture Day Information!
School pictures were taken by Jostens on Tuesday, September 17. If your student missed picture day or needs a retake (retakes are only for students purchasing pictures and are not happy with your original photo), picture retake day will take place on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10.

Wizard of Oz Fall Musical
Performances for the Wizard of Oz, Youth Edition, will take place in the Edgewood Perfomance Gym on the following dates:
Thursday, November 7, at 7:00 pm
Friday, November 8, at 7:00 pm
Saturday, November 9, at 1:00 pm.
Tickets will be available at the doors before each of the performances. Ticket prices are $10/adults, $5/children, $20/family cap. We hope to see you there!
Round Dance
Join us for our Round Dance at Irondale High School, 2425 Long Lake Road, New Brighton, on Wednesday, September 25, from 5:30-7:30 pm. All are welcome!

Activity Bus Routes
Regular school day buses leave Edgewood at 2:32 pm.
Activity/After-school routes leave Edgewood at 3:45 pm (Monday- Thursday).
There are two after-school/activity bus routes, buses #65 & #8 (replacing bus#70). To find the location of your students' drop-off location for the after-school bus routes, click here.

Join Eagle Leaders!
Eagle Leaders is a student leadership group which is open to any student who would like to develop their leadership skills. Eagle Leaders serve the Edgewood community by leading spirit activities, community food drives, service projects, and support events at Edgewood. Eagle Leaders will meet every Thursday starting September 26 after school from 2:30-3:30 in Room 10. You are welcome to start after the fall play/fall sports end. OUR EYES ARE ON IRONDALE
Irondale Bowling Team
The Irondale Bowling Coed Team is Looking for students in grades 7-12 who like to bowl and have the desire to become a better bowler. No Experience is necessary and we need a couple more bowlers that would qualify us to have a full Varsity and JV team that can compete at a state level.
We meet for practice at Flaherty's on Mondays from 3:30-5:00 pm. Competitions are held on Fridays at 3:30 pm at area Bowling centers. The Irondale Bowling team competes in the Minnesota High School Bowling League. The season wraps up in mid-December.

Irondale Soccer Middle School Night!
Join us for our Irondale Soccer Middle School Night on Thursday, October 3! Current students at Highview and Edgewood Middle Schools will be granted free entry! Simply tell the ticket agent at the stadium entrance you are a middle school student.

Middle School Consent Form for High School Activities
Seventh & eighth grade athletes that wish to participate on a high school team will also register online. Before you begin your online registration, approval must be obtained from the middle school principal or dean, the high school activities director, and coach. In addition, signatures from both student & parent/guardian are also required. You can get a copy of the middle school consent form in the front office or print out a copy.

The front office hours are Monday-Thursday from 6:45 am - 4:00 pm and Friday from 6:45 am - 2:45 pm.

An Important Reminder From the Health Office
Reminder: Medications taken in school need to be communicated to nursing staff and a Medication Authorization must be on file for any prescription medications. Controlled substances (e.g. Ritalin, Adderall) MUST be kept in the locked Health Office med cabinet and cannot be self carried.
Safe Routes to School Survey
The City of New Brighton is seeking input from District families as they work to create a Safe Routes to School plan. The plan will recommend ways to make walking and biking to school easier, safer and more comfortable for students and families at Edgewood. Please share your thoughts in this quick survey before October 15.
In addition to the survey, you can also use this interactive map to comment on opportunities and barriers to safely and comfortably walking and biking to school. You can also share your existing walking and biking routes.
