Congratulations to November Staff Member of the Month, Teresa Vargas!
Teresa was nominated by several staff members! Here is what they had to say:
"Teresa always has a great attitude and is a very hard worker. She’s always ready to pitch in and help in any way she can. She covers all the MPB, 2 portables, along with staying after work to help cover G and H halls. She does all of this with no complaints and a cheerful attitude."
"Teresa always shows up to work happy and willing to help out however she can. She’s always positive and ready to lend a helping hand."
What a blessing it is to our campus to have such an outstanding employee with such a positive spirit! Thank you, Teresa, for ALL you do! Congratulations 💙💙💙
Help us celebrate World Kindness Day!
Healthy Coping Strategies
There are times when we may have big feelings or feel overwhelmed. When this happens, we want to learn to manage those feelings in positive, healthy ways! Here are some ideas for healthy coping strategies.
Hope Rising Guidance Lessons
What a privilege it is to go into classes for guidance lessons! We recently went in for our first guidance lesson of the year where we got to spend time understanding the impact of HOPE. When we have hope we believe that good things are possible. We spent time discussing that hope makes hardships bearable and that hope IS A CHOICE! We have the POWER to create hope by the choices that we make. In our lesson we also spent time talking about our choice to live drug free! We got to celebrate that choice with a lot of fun days during Red Ribbon Week. Please take a moment to check out just a few of the reasons our students shared for why they choose to be drug free. 💗
🧡 Ideas for Positive Family Activities for Thanksgiving 🧡
- List things from A-Z that you are thankful for.
- Have each family member sit in a designated chair. Everyone else shares a reason they are thankful for that person.
- Play the M & M Gratitude game -------->
- Get a pumpkin (you can use leftover pumpkins from Halloween if you have any). Each day leading up to Thanksgiving, write one thing you are thankful for on the pumpkin. On Thanksgiving day, share out loud as a family.
