One Pill Can Kill Student Presentation - Monday, November 18
Last year House Bill 3908 mandated that schools provide education on fentanyl and other poisonous drugs to secondary students. In compliance with this requirement, local DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) agents will be conducting educational class assemblies titled "One Pill Can Kill" on Monday, November 18 for 7th & 8th Grade at 1:30-2:30 and 6th Grade at 3:00-4:00. These assemblies aim to provide students with valuable insights into the dangers associated with drugs, particularly those in pill form, that are impacting our local community.
The primary objective of these assemblies is to empower students with knowledge about the adverse consequences of these drugs on individuals in and around the Lubbock area. By offering this information, our goal is to equip students with the awareness necessary to make informed decisions that contribute to their own safety and the well-being of their peers.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we work together to foster a safer and more informed environment for our students. If you have any questions or concerns about these class assemblies, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school administration.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students.
You can click on the picture here to read a brief biography about the presenters.

Voting is open through Friday, December 6, and you can vote once per hour at the City Bank Community Rewards website (https://www.city.bank/about/our-company/community-rewards/lubbock).
The Foundation works tirelessly to support innovative educators in our very own district, across all LCISD campuses, helping to foster learning environments that serve all students through grants, and offering opportunities for success beyond Lubbock-Cooper through hundreds of scholarships for graduating LCISD seniors. They've also brought in a number of inspirational speakers to visit with our students, and even step in to fill needs like annual flu shots for uninsured students who need them! To date, the Foundation has issued more than $1.5 million in the form of grants and scholarships to Lubbock-Cooper teachers and students.
With your votes, the Foundation can continue providing valuable resources across Lubbock-Cooper ISD. Thank you for helping the Lubbock-Cooper Education Foundation build the future, one student at a time - every vote counts!

School Information
Absences - Parents are to report student absences including early outs/late arrivals in their Skyward Family Access via an attendance request. This can be done in the app or on a desktop. Click here to view a how to video When submitting an Early Out or Late Arrival absence request, please be sure to UNSELECT the ‘all day check mark’. This ensures the attendance office knows what time your child will be leaving and/or arriving. Campus attendance email is for submitting documentation, such as a doctors note. If you have any questions please contact Annie Young ayoung@lcisd.net or by calling the front office.
Outside Food Delivery - Due to security concerns, no outside entity (DoorDash, Pizza delivery, etc.) will not be allowed to drop off lunches for students. Parents/Guardians may bring a lunch for their students. Lunches can be dropped off in the front office in the marked shelving area. Please be sure your student knows they are getting lunch so they can come pick it up in the office.
Skyward - Lubbock-Cooper ISD provides parents access to their children's records via our student information system, Skyward Family Access. Skyward Family Access maintains an open line of communication between school and home, and allows parents and students the opportunity to view grades, attendance information, schedules, calendars, and additional information any time of day. Skyward Family Access is available any place with an internet connection. Skyward Parent Link
Student Badges - All students must have their badges on them at all times. Badges will be used everyday to include: Bus Riding, Lunch Purchase, Library Checkout, etc.
Transportation - If your child will be riding the bus this year, you MUST complete the Transportation Request Form that can be found here. Student badges will be used to ensure the safety of your students this year. Campuses will be able to know exactly where and when students are dropped off and/or picked up.
