How do I access Rising 6th Grade Night Information?
What to expect in the coming months?
What should I and my child do now to prepare?
To start to prepare for the transition to middle school, there are two things families can focus on now.
1. Start to discuss which Related Arts Option is the best fit for your child and family. Sixth graders have three options for Related arts:
- Option 1 - Take all of the non-music RA classes
- Option 2 - Take one music class, PE, Health, and two RA classes that will be randomly selected.
- Option 3 - Take two music RA classes
2. Core class placement in 6th grade can be impacted by 5th grade core class grades. The best thing scholars can do to set themselves up for success in middle school is to finish their 5th grade year strong. Focus on making progress in all content areas, so they have the knowledge and skills to set them up for success next year.
