Empowering Student Independence
One of the most valuable lessons we can impart upon our children is the ability to navigate the world with confidence and independence. As we journey towards the end of another exciting school year, I want to take a moment to remind you of two Wildwood protocols designed to foster independence in our students.
1. Students Enter and Exit Vehicles Independently in our Drive-thru Lines
We ask all families to allow your children to enter and exit vehicles in the drive thru lots independently. Please do not get out of your car to open the door or trunk for your students. This really slows down the process. Students should enter and exit through the door on the school side and keep their backpack with them. For safety, do not allow your children to get out on the street side of the vehicle. Together, we can make this a smooth, pleasant process for everyone!
Starting and ending the school day with a sense of self-reliance can have a profound impact on a child's development. By allowing them to take this small step on their own, we are empowering them to feel capable and confident.
2. Adults Exit the Campus When the Warning Bell Sounds at 8:05am
We kindly ask all parents to make use of the first bell at 8:05a.m. as the signal to say your goodbyes and leave the campus promptly. This will allow our students the time they need to prepare themselves mentally and emotionally for the school day ahead while lining up with their classmates.
Together, let's work towards nurturing independence in our children and fostering an environment where they feel supported to grow and thrive.
Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in creating positive and empowering learning experiences for our students.
Warmly,
Mr. Lynch

As Staff Appreciation Week unfolds next week, we're honored to extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated individuals who make our school community thrive. To our teachers, you inspire and guide our students every day, shaping the leaders of tomorrow. To our support staff, your behind-the-scenes efforts do not go unnoticed. Together, you create an environment where students can learn, grow, and succeed. Thank you for your unwavering commitment and passion. 2024-25 PTA Volunteer Opportunities
Are you looking for ways to be more involved next year? Our PTA would LOVE your help!!! While there are many ways to help, we know of three fundraisers that will need someone to facilitate: Original Works, Food Nights and School Cents. These are both great ways to get involved and don’t require a huge time commitment.
Original Works is an art program that allows parents to purchase their child’s artwork on costume keepsakes. Most of the work can be done from home with a couple stops at school to put things in teacher boxes etc. Teachers do the art in class and you are responsible for getting it organized and working with Original Works (OW) to get it shipped out. The program coordinator from Original Works is super helpful and around to answer any questions. Teachers typically do the art in January and February and we submit it to OW mid-February. Sarah Casey has facilitated this program for years and is ready to train someone new! If you are interested in learning more about please reach out to Sarah at sarahbsheppard@hotmail.com.
School Cents is a program that collaborates with The Oaks in order to generate funds to local K-12 schools. Schools families, staff and other community members submit receipts from The Oaks from Sept 1st- April 30th to earn points for their school. Based on the points earned, our school receives funds from the School Cents program. This is primarily a work from home position. There are 4 pre-scheduled meetings during the school year that takes place at The Oaks. Otherwise, the main goal is to send out communication via newsletter, social media, email blasts regarding submitting receipts and/or current promotions. It will be Jen Charoenrath’s last year at Wildwood and would love to pass it on. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact Jen at jent912@gmail.com.
Food Nights are a great way for the PTA to partner with restaurants and earn money for our school while also supporting local businesses. This is a wonderful opportunity for a work from home volunteer position, with minimal time on campus. Primarily the duties include coordinating with local restaurants to arrange food night fundraisers, creating flyers to be sent home, making copies at the school and distributing the flyers in teacher boxes so that they can go out in the Wednesday Envelopes. In addition, promoting these food nights through eblasts and social media will be key. Many restaurants will provide their own flyers, which will save time. If you think this is something you might be interested in and want to learn more information please reach out to Andrea Patrick, our current Food Nights Chair at apatrick1323@gmail.com
Calling all Marie Kondos!
Are you a wizard at repurposing and purging? Do you love a closet full of acrylic bins? Do you know how to work on a BUDGET? We are looking for Wildwood community members who are willing to channel their inner organizer to help us with a beautification project for our teachers.
