RMS Care Closet
We are so excited and deeply grateful for the generous donations we’ve received so far in support of our Care Closet initiative! This project has been a dream, and seeing it come to life is truly inspiring. It’s all made possible by the incredible kindness and generosity of our community, and we couldn’t be more thankful.
These contributions mean so much to us, as they allow us to provide essential resources to our students when they need them most. From basic necessities to small comforts, the Care Closet will have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of many, ensuring every student feels supported and valued.
We can’t wait to see the continued growth of this initiative as it develops and reaches even more students in need. Your support not only helps meet immediate needs but also strengthens the sense of care and compassion that defines our community. Thank you for being such an important part of this effort and for helping us create a space where every student can thrive.
Please tap the flyer and see the following PDF for more information.

Counselors Corner
Happy Holidays! As we head into the last two weeks of school before our holiday break, all of us in the counseling department know that this can be a stressful time for students and families. The holidays can bring up feelings of loss or anxiousness for a variety of reasons. Please take time to relax, enjoy your loved ones, and to acknowledge any feelings that arise, but try to focus on the positive. If your family or student needs extra support or needs to be connected with community resources, please do not hesitate to reach out to your grade level counselor. The holidays can be challenging and we are here to help if needed.
★ 6th Grade
Please remind your children the importance of KINDNESS. It is not difficult to be a good person each and every day. If you don’t like someone or are not friends with someone in your classes, you do not need to go out of your way to make that person feel unwelcomed. Middle school is such a huge transitional phase of adolescence and unfortunately comes with some not fun challenges! Be a good person, work hard, and doing the right thing is what we ask of our students. Please remind your students that actions go a long way and you don’t ever want to be someone to ruin another person’s day or even middle school experience. Thank you for your support!!!!
★ 7th Grade
*Now that the majority of Minute Meetings have concluded, there seems to be an increase of students feeling comfortable to come and visit. Whether their visit is centered around academics, peers, or just needing an ear to listen, it has been an HONOR to support MORE students this way.
*Students can access the School Counselor by stopping by the office. Sometimes I’m available for walk-in’s, whereas other times I may be occupied with another student or staff member, on the phone with a parent, or in a meeting. Rest assured, students are prompted to complete a slip and are called down as soon as possible, usually the same day.
*I have begun meeting with students who had one or more F’s from the first trimester. The idea is to reflect and set goals as to how they are going to improve this trimester. Whether it's to stay focused in class, advocate for themselves by participating and asking questions, or have less missing work, all goals are GREAT goals! Please help your student be successful this trimester by checking PowerSchool weekly to ensure they are on the right track!
★ 8th Grade
Tonight is the night! Our 8th grade students are geared up and ready for their first middle school dance. We are excited to see our students experience these special memories of middle school as they get ready for the transition to the 9th grade academy. Over the next few weeks, I will be meeting with all of our R-Time classes to complete our Xello(career exploration) lessons. The focus in 8th grade is the transition to high school. We will be talking about the importance of passing all of our classes to earn credit and the many differences between RMS and the 9th grade academy. We will also be emphasizing the importance of participating in activities, whether it be sports, band, theater, community service, or the many other offerings available. In February we will begin the scheduling process for 9th grade, so look for more information after the New Year.
