HHS Principal's Update: Week 11
Thursday, October 24th
Good Evening HHS Students and Families,
It's hard to believe that we are already wrapping up October next week! Fall sports are finishing up with teams either in the CIF playoffs or gearing up to start soon—such an exciting time! We want to congratulate our Flag Football Team for their historic win in the CIF Round 1 playoffs on Tuesday. They now will play on Saturday in round 2! TONIGHT, our Girl's Volleyball Team hosts Valencia in their CIF Round 1 Game. Game starts at 6PM @ HHS! On Saturday, the HHS Band is performing in the Hart Rampage competition at College of the Canyons. And of course, we always finish October with a Halloween celebration. At HHS, we love to see our students get creative, so we’re encouraging everyone to join in the fun by dressing up! We’ll be hosting a costume contest during both lunches to showcase the most creative and exciting costumes on campus. It’s going to be a fun event, and we can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!
To make sure the Halloween festivities are fun and safe for everyone, we have a few non-negotiable rules that must be followed. Please check out the guidelines below.
Let’s keep up the amazing work as we finish October strong and head into November. I can already smell the Thanksgiving Dinner....
Have a great Friday and weekend!
Charles Dunn

HHS College & Career Readiness Survey for Parents (PLEASE TAKE)
HHS and the AVUHSD are committed to providing students with the best opportunities for their college and career pathways. To help us improve how we support students in making post-secondary choices, we've partnered with a team from Aspiring Higher for the next few months.
California has allocated funding to increase the number of students meeting the UC/CSU a-g admission requirements, and the Aspiring Higher team will help us evaluate both college and career readiness efforts at our high school.
We need your help! Please take a few minutes to complete a parent/family survey, available in both English and Spanish. The survey will take about 5 minutes and will help us make our school even better for our students.
Our school and district are taking extraordinary measures to ensure we’re doing all we can to help our students be college and career-ready. As this process wraps up, we will share more information about what we’re doing well and where we might need to make improvements. Until then, thank you for your ongoing support!
