From the Superintendent's Office
Robert Tremblay
May 1st , 2024
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am pleased to inform you that Barbieri Elementary School has partnered with the Massachusetts Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program to provide you with a valuable survey tool to gather data on how our students travel to and from school. The results of this survey will help plan safe transportation options for all students, evaluate current SRTS efforts, identify areas for
improvement, and assist this community in an effort to reduce traffic congestion during arrival and dismissal times.
This brief survey should take no longer than three minutes to complete and is available in nine different languages. It is important to note that the SRTS Survey does not collect any personal or identifiable data as the survey does not call for any names to be provided and gathers approximate home addresses using nearby streets. Additionally, schools that obtain a response rate of 50% or higher can receive a gift pack (pedometers, bike lights, and reflective backpacks, or other similar
items) valued at over $250.00.
The information you provide will help determine:
- The average distance students travel to school
- How students are getting to and from school
Please visit the SRTS Survey webpage at https://masaferoutessurvey.org/ to complete the survey for your school (no login necessary. You may also contact our SRTS Outreach Coordinator, Maggie Burke, at 857-383-3861 or by email at maggie.burke@aecom.com with any additional questions or concerns that you may have.
Sincerely,
Robert Tremblay, Superintendent
