Building Progress
Our second floor walls are complete and our roof trusses are being installed this week. Inside the rooms, the walls are being rendered, and our spaces are being made ready for the installation as the windows and doors arrive on island just in time for Christmas.
Overall our fantastic team led by Pioneer Construction, and managed by Livingstone Project Managers have worked incredibly hard to put us almost a month ahead of schedule. That's something worth shouting about!
Second Floor is Up!
Courtyard view from the second floor.
Future library space.
Our temporary nursery for 85 saved trees.
Upstairs classroom ready for it's roof.
Main floor walkway.
Taken in late October, our drone photographer captured this image of the second floor slab being prepared, and giving us a great perspective of our location in our community.
Our house names are as important as their families.
Contributing to community, particularly in recognising the importance of being actively involved in striving for collective success, lies at the heart of the Island Primary ethos. Inspired by this principle, we’re excited to share our commitment towards establishing a house system to reinforce this sense of responsibility while promoting a pathway of graduated student leadership, agency, and belonging.
While our houses will undoubtedly shape their own individual “personalities”, perhaps even motivating one another to continually improve and evolve, they will remain unified by a common purpose: To provide a dynamic learning community committed to actively engaging with, and contributing to, an ever-changing and diverse local and global society.
We’d love to hear your suggestions, please click HERE to let us know 3 names you feel would best represent our school houses.
Thank you!!
Our Staff
We have been overwhelmed with the response to our recruitment drive with over 200 people from near and afar reaching out to us, and we are so thankful to all of the applicants for taking the time to tell us about themselves. We've met with over 60 amazing people, and we will be making final selections early next week.
Over the coming months we will begin introducing our amazing team to our community, and can't wait to share the good news through our Website and Newsletter updates so please watch this space!
Student Registration
As always, if you have any questions at all regarding our registration process please feel free to reach out anytime to info@islandprimary.org.
Until next time!
With over a year and a half of intense behind the scenes work, it's a truly incredible feeling to see the building grow alongside our team development and family registration, and we are so thankful to all of our partners who have joined together to help take this from a concept to a reality.
So as we look towards this time of year where friends and families come together to celebrate our relationships, let's take a minute to be thankful for each other, and look ahead to fantastic new friendships ahead of us.
