Dear Barrington 220 Community:
Earlier today we were made aware of a racist post circulating on social media that appears as if it was re-posted on a social media account associated with one of our high school students. We immediately contacted authorities and they are investigating the incident.
We want to take this time to remind our school community that any form of hate has no place in the Barrington 220 community. Our school district strives to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students and staff.
We also want to remind our students about digital citizenship and responsibility. Students learn about social media responsibility as part of each school's curriculum and we ask that parents reinforce that message at home.
