Westside Unified

We are excited to sponsor a recognition of our Special Olympics and Unified Participants at the February 14th Girls Basketball Game. All Westside Students who participate in Special Olympics and Unified Activities are invited to join! (We want Athletes, Partners, anyone who participates) Participating students and their families will get into the game for free that night (game begins at 5:30). Students participating will be brought down to the floor for a special presentation showing our love for inclusion in Westside!

Participating students are asked to meet in the area in front of Activity Gym (WHS) at halftime, approximately 6:00pm.

We've already had an amazing response to our Polar Plunge Fundraising Campaign. We so appreciate your support. If you haven't yet had the opportunity to donate we would still appreciate your support. Polar Plunge is the main way we raise money to support the Unified Activities across our district.

When: Monday, February 24th, from 4-6

The Special Olympics Unified Schools Program is a fast-growing initiative that brings students with and without intellectual disabilities together.

As Unified Champion Schools, we partner with Special Olympics Nebraska to implement a three-component strategy focused on Inclusive Sports, Inclusive Youth Leadership, and Whole-School Engagement. These three components bring students with and without intellectual disabilities together to promote a positive school climate, develop physical fitness, prevent bullying, enhance student engagement, and promote student leadership skills.
