This week we will start practicing our dance for the Hispanic Heritage night. I am looking so forward to seeing the students perform.

- Please send a water bottle to school with your student.
- It is going to be hot over the next few weeks. This means we might not always be able to go outside for recess but we will have indoor recess.

What We Are Doing This Week
Math:
Monday: We will name numbers up to 100,000 by building understanding of the
place value chart and placement of commas for naming base thousand
units.
Tuesday:We will read and write numbers up to 100,000 using base ten numerals,
number names, expanded form, and expanded notation.
Wednesday: We will compare numbers based on the meaning of the digits using <,
>, or = to record the comparison.
Thursday:
We will round two-digit measurements to the nearest ten on the
vertical number line.
Science:
We will plan and conduct investigations that demonstrate how the speed of an object is related to its mechanical energy.
