How is it possible that we have reached June? That nine (plus) months have passed and our beloved eighth graders are moving on to become high schoolers?
We're not done yet and still have much to accomplish but June provides important opportunities to 1) finish strong, and 2) reflect, celebrate, and express gratitude. These final 13 days of the school year will be busy including events, concerts, and celebrations. We look forward to each and the opportunity to connect before our STARs liftoff for the summer.
Below is our second-to-last update for the year. Our final North News for this school year will be sent later this month, in correlation with our final school day on Thursday, June 20th. In addition, we will send updates over the summer as we prepare for the coming year.
Enjoy and thank you for your time, partnership, and support - goNorth!

Celebrating Pride Month
June is Pride Month and across the coming weeks, our school, district, and community will be honoring this important time together! Pride is more than just a month of celebrations and recognition of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) community. It is a reminder and marker in our collective efforts for needed equality. It is a time of collaboration and support as we work to ensure that our school is safe and welcoming to every student, family, and member of our North team. Pride month provides us with a wonderful opportunity to come together to celebrate and honor the history and achievements of the LGBTQ+ community.
As a school and district committed to inclusion, equity, and achievement in every regard, we believe in the importance of safe, positive learning environments where every child, every family, and every team member are welcomed, respected, and empowered. Our North GSA Club (Gay-Straight Alliance) has worked hard to thoughtfully plan campus-wide opportunities. This includes our Pride Month Spirit Week (below) and opportunities to purchase items with all proceeds going directly to support Cocoon House.
Please join us in celebrating and honoring LGBTQ+ Pride Month throughout this month of June!
Summer Reading program
With summer quickly approaching, North is launching our 2024 Summer Reading Program. This years theme, Summer's Greatest Hits, celebrates summertime joys including warm, relaxing afternoons, good music, and great books. North joins our Everett Public Schools and partners at the Everett Public Library and Sno-Isle Libraries in challenging our students to read across the coming summer months. This can be done my recording books read on the right-linked summer playlist. This will be turned in when students return in the fall for an invitation to our Welcome Back party. Additionally, students can participate in one of our local library summer reading programs, listed below, to earn prizes for reading.
Please take a look and help us in incentivizing your child to spend time each day reading over the summer. The benefits of doing so are tremendous while the absence of reading over the summer is exceptionally detrimental. Thank you for your support!
May STAR Celebration
Our final STAR celebration occurred on Friday, 5/24, honoring all students with grades of As, Bs, and Cs, who also had less than six tardy incidents for this second semester. This was our last of these monthly celebrations honoring academic effort and beneficial study habits. Over 450 students were invited and as a school we congratulated those students and their families for their accomplishments.
