The Dean’s Office Excellence in Student Conduct for our Class of 2020
Sending Final Transcripts & Scores (Seniors)
Send your official AP scores to colleges that accept/require them through your Collegeboard account. You can have one free score sent by June 20th.
Student-Athletes (Seniors)
If you wish to compete at a NAIA school or a NCAA Division I or II school you must be registered with either the NAIA or NCAA Eligibility Center. It does not matter whether you walk-on or have earned a full or partial scholarship. If you want to play as a freshman, you MUST register.
Letters of Recommendation (Juniors)
Would you like to start working on your college applications early? If you will need any letters of recommendation, consider working on your Counselor Letter of Recommendation Questionnaire now and during the summer! Please see instructions and information about letters of recommendation here. Download the 2020-2021 Counselor Letter of Recommendation Questionnaire and upload your completed PDF to the Submission Link (google form).
What is the Counselor Letter of Recommendation Questionnaire?
- Just like its name, it is the questionnaire that MD students must fill out and submit if they need a letter of recommendation from their counselor. Some colleges require letters of recommendation, and some do not. Our questionnaire has a section for students and a section for parents/guardians. It helps us to understand and share about your background, personality, passions, accomplishments, and future goals.
- You may submit your completed questionnaire as soon as you are ready. So that your counselors can write the best recommendations, we ask that you turn in this questionnaire at least 3 weeks in advance of your first college application due date. Earlier is always appreciated, but when you are ready is just as important to us.
Build a Resume
Students, consider creating or updating your resume! A resume is a document that sums up your background, skills, experiences, and accomplishments, and can be submitted to a potential employer or supplement your college application. You can start building a downloadable resume in your Naviance account (instructions) or through California Career Zone (create a free account first, Resume Builder instructions). Check out these helpful tips, examples, and resume templates for high school students.

SLEEP APNEA MACHINE DONATIONS
Do you know someone who may be willing to donate a sleep apnea treatment machine that they aren’t using? Recent MD alum X Sun (class of 2019) is part of the Ventilator SOS project at UC Berkeley/UCSF, where they are collecting unused sleep apnea treatment machines (BIPAP and CPAP) and repurposing them into ventilators that can be used to assist patients with COVID-19. Go to Ventilator SOS for more info and read more about the project here. MD community, please help us to spread the word about this project!

COLLEGE READINESS PROGRAM
Coastline Community College is offering a College Readiness Program, this summer, to help students work on their math or English skills. The program is completely free, you can sign up at any time and work at your own pace (it is available online 24/7 for up to a year at a time). The College Readiness Program helps you practice the skills to succeed in English or math, but it does not guarantee success in any particular subject. This program is NOT a course, and it does not grant credit. It is designed to help you develop skills you will need for math and English courses. If you are interested, see the information below to get started:
This video (recommended) can guide students through signing up and getting started. Or, use the following steps:
- Create an account at ccc.edready.org (there are many EdReady sites, so be sure to enter the URL exactly) and use the confirmation link that is sent to the email you use to sign up.
- Using the pop-up window or the key icon on the right side of your screen, enter the goal keys.
- Start and complete the diagnostic. Skip any questions you are unsure of.
- When you are done with the diagnostic, click on the first topic listed on your study path and complete the “learn” portion. Then, take the “test”. Repeat with each topic.
