Please read through our K-6th Grade Parent Handbook. It is linked on our CCSD Website at all times. Principals work together every spring to update and then our school board approves. Please fill out this Google Form stating you have looked at it.

Please keep toys, stuffed animals, and other play items at home unless it is a special classroom celebration. Thank you!

If you haven’t already, please take some time to view this important five-minute video regarding school safety. This came in a message from Steve Doser earlier this week as well. In this video, CCSD staff, parents, and community partners share information about items and actions that are not allowed at school. When we all work together, we can increase the safety of our schools and our district and foster a sense of belonging for all students.

Beginning of the Day:

8:45-Students can enter our building

8:45-CAR DROP-OFF

8:45-BREAKFAST

8:45-8:55-Supervision provided for kids

8:55-9:10-Students can enter classrooms

9:10-OFFICIAL START TO OUR DAY!

End of the Day:

3:55-CAR PICKUP

4:00-Students leave Heights Bus Loading Zone

Consistent attendance is fundamental to success at school. We want to foster a sense of belonging and learning at Heights. If your child is going to be absent please call the office at 319-848-5230 or email the office at heights-office@crprairie.org. If there is going to be a change in your child's after-school plan, please call or email the office by 3:00 PM.

As we enjoy our first weeks of school I wanted to give a reminder on medication policy at CCSD. Students are not allowed to carry medicine to or from school. This includes prescription as well as over the counter medication. A parent/guardian is required to bring all medicine to school the first time and subsequent refills may be done by a trusted adult. Our elementary buildings do not allow cough drops so please do not send those with children at any time of the year. If their cough is bad enough for a cough drop please consider keeping them home. All medication must be signed into the nurse's office including prescription, emergency, and over the counter. Please help us keep all our kids safe by following these protocols established by our School Board.
