Valley Creek Parents/Guardians,

We have had another amazing week. Our fundraiser is going strong and we are on our way to reaching our goal. Remember, what we raise with Boosterthon, helps support our students, teachers, and entire VC community. Let’s keep going strong. Our Fun Run is next week.

Don’t forget that next Friday the 27th is our Valley Creek Spirit Night at the stadium at 6:30pm. Let’s show the rest of MISD what we are all about. Valley Creek is the BEST!

Our tailgate party will be from 5-6pm (by the cones) at the North end of the HOME parking lot. Bring a sack dinner. We will have popsicles, music, and games before we all head to section 109 by 6:30pm. Can’t wait to see everyone there!

If you submitted an application for the 2023-2024 Free and Reduced Lunch Program but have not submitted an application for this school year, your student will be dropped from the program September 21st. We would like to encourage parents to submit an application because there are other benefits for being in the program and also to establish the school year 2025-2026 30-day carryover status, however parents are under no obligation to do so.

Thank you for your compliance and understanding as we follow these district security protocols:

• A valid state or government issued photo ID must be presented each time you visit, volunteer, or pick up a student.
• Please be prepared to present your physical ID upon arrival.
• We are not be able to accept photos of ID's on phones.
• We will not be able to admit anyone to volunteer, visit, or pick up a student that does not present their physical ID.

• A background check is required each school year for people wanting to volunteer in McKinney ISD.
• This includes making copies, PTA events, lunch duty coverage, classroom parties, field trips, and other volunteering that takes place inside and outside our building.
• We encourage all parents and guardians to complete your volunteer application as soon as possible to avoid any delay in the processing.
• Anyone that has not completed a volunteer application and had it approved will not be able to volunteer in any capacity inside or outside of our building.

Tuesday September 24th - Cougar Run - adjusted schedule day for run and lunches - Students should wear their new PTA Grade Level Cougar shirts!

6:00pm -7:00pm -in the library - PTA General Meeting

Friday September 27th -5:00pm - 6:00pm - North End of the Home side of the stadium - Tailgate Fun - Bring a sack dinner and chairs/blanket for a tailgate picnic in the parking lot before the game. We will have some games and hang out before we go into the stadium!

6:30 - 7:00pm - Section 109 - Valley Creek Spirit Night MISD Stadium -

• Students, along with their parents/guardians, are invited to join us to show off our Valley Creek spirit and cheer on the MHS Lions in their game vs Allen Eagles that starts at 7:00pm.
• Families may meet teachers/staff in the stands, section 109, at 6:30pm.
• Students and teachers/staff will go onto the field to be recognized and have a pic taken! Parents will wait in the stands to cheer for our school!
• Students will return to the stands to their parents/guardians. Families are then free to sit wherever their tickets permit to enjoy the rest of the game!
• This is not a drop off event for students; an adult is required to attend with them.

Wednesday October 2nd - Fall Picture Day - Individual pictures to be taken for yearbook. Purchasing is online only through School Pix. Directions below.
