Raider Family Weekly Update

Raider families,

We had a great first week of school as students learned new policies and proceedures and began their dailly routines in the classroom! We are excited for a great school year and we hope your student is as well. As a reminder, this weekly newsletter is intended to keep families and students informed of events, updates, meal menus, celebrations, etc. We share our newsletter virtually via the School's Facebook Page (Central USD 462), website Live Feed (www.usd462.org) and parent and student emails. Monday, August 19th

ZAP Begins: All assignments marked as !MISSING in the Powerschool gradebook will be referred to the ZAP Program. A Missing Assignment Report will pulled prior to 10:00 a.m. each Monday morning. Notifications will be delivered to students & an email/phone call sent to students/guardian. To get signed out of ZAP, students will need to complete the assignment with full effort, fill out a green get out of ZAP form located at the office window and have the teacher sign the form between passing periods/before-after school/during the class you are zap'd for and then return it to the office. (See handbook for more information).

JH Eligibility Begins. Parents/guardians of any JH student who currently has a failing (F) grade will be notified of in-eligibility via school reach text message and email.

RISE Time: Assigned Groups - Begin Leader In Me

WIN Time: STAR 360 Math Testing in Assigned Groups (student will be notified of group Monday morning, please bring charged chromebook each day)

1st Day of Fall Sport Practices - JH FB/VB/CC Practice @ CJSHS 3:15 - 4:30 p.m. HS FB/VB/CC Practice at CJSHS after school.

Raider Community Tailgate - Free Hotdog Dinner (sponsored by RCB Bank & USD 462). Outdoor Concessions. 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Feel free to bring a side dish if you are able.

Friday, August 23rd

Friday School/Open Library 9:00 a.m. - Noon. Open to all students for tutoring, help with homework, access to internet, serve detentions, etc.

Parents/guardians, please take a moment to review and discuss the policies in this handbook with your student if you have not done so already. Thank you!

Doors will open at 7:35 a.m. Students, please do not plan to be in the parking lot or waiting by the front doors prior to 7:30 a.m. Breakfast will be served from 7:35 am-7:50 am. Students eating breakfast will drop their belongings off in their lockers and head to the cafeteria. Students who choose not to eat breakfast will wait in the commons area or in the gym until 7:50 am when the first bell rings and they can head to class. Students, if you are a breakfast eater, please plan accordingly.

Families, please send $10 for your student(s) tech fee next week if you haven't already.
