Hello Odyssey Students and Families,

As we embark on another exciting school year, I am thrilled to welcome each and every one of you back to Odyssey Online Learning. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, I hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer break.

The beginning of a new school year is always a time filled with anticipation, excitement, and a little bit of nervousness. It's a fresh start, a chance to set new goals, and an opportunity to build upon the successes of the past. Our commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment remains steadfast, and we are dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential.

**If you are not in attendance at either meeting, you will be pulled in a small group with administration. It is essential for you to know all expectations to help you be successful!

Odyssey Online Learning is proud to announce that we are partnering with StrongMind this year to deliver your educational and instructional content! Students, you will receive an email on Wednesday, August 7th from StrongMind with a link to set up your user login information. The link in this email will only be active for 48 hours to complete your setup. Please be on the lookout for this email and complete your account setup as soon as possible. We'll cover more information regarding StrongMind during our Orientation Sessions.

An OOL Handbook Moment

OOL Attendance Policy:

Students must log in each school day and actively complete assignments in each class to be counted present and to avoid being referred to the Attendance/Truancy Officer. Once your student accrues 10 consecutive unexcused absences, he/she will be withdrawn from the school. If students are unable to log in each school day, they are required to contact their Teacher and/or Student Engagement Specialist.

Failure to log in each school day and actively complete assignments in each class, will result in a documented absence for each day missed. Odyssey Online Learning follows the required attendance policy from the state of South Carolina. If students are unable to sign in every day during the regular school week (Monday through Friday), then Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays may be used as make-up days with prior approval from his or her teacher in writing.

Four Key Components For Daily Success:

1) Login and complete work in each class daily (Monday-Friday).

2) Notify your Student Engagement Specialists and teacher immediately when it is not possible to sign on.

3) Return telephone calls and/or respond to emails from ALL Odyssey Online Staff within 24

hours.

• Sept 2-Labor Day- NO SCHOOL!
• Sept 3- Grade Level Academy Teams @ 8:00 AM (Attendance Required)

• Oct 1- Grade Level Academy Teams @ 8:00 AM (Attendance Required)
