Thank you, parents, for a very successful first few days of school. We enjoy seeing our students’ smiling faces every morning. The students are doing a great job navigating their way to their new classrooms, and we are very proud of them.
To ensure an efficient and safe transition for our students, we want to remind parents to stay in the car during drop off. We will open the passenger doors for your students and help them out of the car.
Thank you for your help.

Our Apex Leadership Team
Returns to WCHE 9/17 - 9/27
As the new school year begins, we at Apex Leadership Co want to offer a special resource to help you and your family kick off this exciting time. We're excited to share the above set of inspirational lunchbox notes designed to add a touch of positivity and encouragement to your child's day.
Why Lunchbox Notes Matter
These small but meaningful messages can have a significant impact on your child's day. Whether it’s a reminder of how much they are loved, a boost of confidence before a test, or an encouraging word to help them through a tough day, these notes can inspire and motivate them to bring their best selves to everything they do
.
Our Mission at Apex Leadership Co
At Apex Leadership Co, our mission is to build leaders by empowering kids to believe in themselves and their abilities. We believe that strong leadership begins at a young age, and it is our goal to provide tools and experiences that foster these values.
Here’s to a fantastic new school year filled with growth, learning, and leadership!
Have the best day,
Your Apex Leadership Team
Discovery/Gifted & Talented Program Accepting Referrals
Through October 18
Attention LTISD Parents and Guardians,
The Discovery Program, otherwise known as Gifted and Talented, is now accepting parent referrals for GT Screening via this google form.
Transfer students, who were already identified as GT coming from their previous district, should submit their Google form as soon as possible, as the transfer student screening will be set within 30 days of the first day of school. Parents should send proof of their child's selection/participation in the previous GT program directly to the campus GT coordinator. See below for a campus contact list.
Parents can submit referrals for screening up until the end of the first 9 weeks, by October 18, 2024. Students in Grades 1-5 will be tested during the 2nd 9 weeks of instruction. If the referral and permission forms are not submitted by the deadline, the student will have to wait until next year's screening opportunity, as the spring screening session is only for students moving in new to the district after the fall testing window is closed.
Kindergarten students can be referred for GT testing beginning in January 2025. More details will be shared regarding this process at the end of the first semester.
The forms and further information about the program can be found here. A virtual Discovery Parent Information Meeting will be held September 27 at 11:30 am.
Once the request is submitted through the Google form, the campus GT coordinator will contact parents via email after October 18 to share pertinent information.
You are also welcome to contact our Tiger GT Teacher Erin Wyatt at any time with questions.
Dear Lake Travis ISD Staff and Parents/Guardians,
As a reminder, registration for our After School Fall Enrichment will open on Monday, August 19. Explore a wide array of class offerings designed to cater to various interests, spanning from Prekindergarten through high school. Our classes feature dedicated instruction after school from LTISD staff members and meticulously-selected contractors to ensure a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Regular registration will be available through Sunday, September 8. Late registration will occur Monday, September 9 through Friday, September 13 and will incur a $35 fee. There are no registrations after September 13. To prioritize the safety of our campers, all rosters must be finalized in advance, enabling Community Programs to plan for staffing, allocate space, and procure supplies accordingly. Classes begin the week of September 30.

Dear Lake Travis ISD Parents/Guardians,
Lake Travis ISD has teamed up with Lightspeed Systems® to allow parents and guardians to see their child’s online activities on school-provided devices at home and after school. This free service is now available along with LTISD’s existing web filtering system, Lightspeed Filter, which blocks students from accessing inappropriate online content.
Beginning on August 18, 2024, parents and guardians will receive a Weekly Student Online Activity Report via email, summarizing their child’s web browsing activity for the week. Please be aware that this email may be redirected to spam, so checking this folder is important to ensure it is being received. In addition to the report summary, parents and guardians can also register for the full web-based portal, Lightspeed Parent Portal, which provides real-time, detailed student browsing activity and internet controls.
The Lightspeed Parent Portal provides parents with improved visibility and control over their children's internet usage on school-issued devices outside of school hours. With Lightspeed Parent Portal, parents can:
- Allow, restrict, or block after-school access to YouTube and social media, including Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and more.
- Receive the Weekly Student Online Activity Report email showing the number of browsed web pages, student time spent daily online, and sites most commonly visited.
- See real-time web activity with timestamped data and allowed/blocked indicators for each website visited.
- Pause web browsing for one hour, three hours, or overnight to manage screen time.
To learn more about the Lightspeed Parent Portal, please refer to the following PDF: https://www.ltisdschools.org/fs/resource-manager/view/a7a14773-3c96-4f35-b3f7-6a8de5fd490b. If you have any additional questions, please refer to the FAQ resources in the Lightspeed Parent Portal web-based app, or contact us at helpdesk@ltisdschools.org.
As an essential aspect of our collaboration, Lightspeed Systems is governed by and strictly adheres to student data privacy laws such as FERPA and COPPA. This ensures that student information stays confidential and will not be shared, distributed, or sold to advertisers or other parties.
Sincerely,
Chris Woehl
