Gate and Electronic Visitor Security System (EVSS)
- When you approach the intercom box, have your Identification out and give the name of your child as you will be prompted to do so by the office staff
- Hold your Identification close to the box so that it can be easily seen as your name will be match to the student name in the computer
- Upon verification, you will be 'buzzed' in. Proceed directly to the office.
Be patient with the new process. It is in the spirit of safety.

Hoover’s first round of after school tutoring will end January 23, 2020. Session two will begin on February 4th and end on June 4th. Students attend on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:45 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. During this hour, students will be given strategic lessons in English Language Arts and Math. Students are also allowed time to work on homework assignments.

Parent Engagement Opportunities
Hoover is committed to providing parents with resources to help support their child at home and in school. We offer monthly workshops to parents to help increase their awareness of how to help their middle school child.
In October, Parents learned to use ParentVue to track student progress, grades, SBAC Scores, and High School Readiness. In November, we shared with teachers how the school implements the Common Core State Standards. Please join us for the following workshops:
February 5-Bullying and Cyber Bullying
March 10-Is your Student SBAC ready?
