Red Ribbon Fun all week this week. We had jerseys, pajamas, red and more pajamas! The time has finally arrived! This Tuesday is Trunk or Treat! We hope you can all make it! It's one of the best days of the school year. It's not too late to come for the fun. Here's a link to sign up and volunteer!
Also, next Sunday, November 3rd is Dino Dash. We will have a booth at the event as well. Please consider signing up and learn more about this great event at www.tpsf.net/dinodash. We get $10 per registration directly to your child's classroom for regsitering.
This week's background features pictures from our K-3 class doing some building, Lola and Madeline finding Dash and our middle schoolers who attended the Philharmonic this past week. We also had some early Hallow cucumbers and oranges.

Principal's Message...
The time has come for three big events. Saturday is the PSAT for our juniors that signed up to take the test on Saturday morning at 8 am. This Tuesday is Trunk or Treat, and a week from Sunday is Dino Dash! All great and exciting events that we would love to see you all at. All three are great ways to connect with TC and the TUSD family. Many of our teachers and staff will be at both events and we hope to see you there. It's always great to see a familiar face.
We are also starting our social skills groups next week. If you have any ideas for potential gropus, we'd love to hear about it. We have some talentd counselors who have and continue to suport our students. With that being said, any insight or potential topics are much apprecaiated.

PTA Round Up
Hello Maverick Families,
Trunk or Treat is almost here! We are less than a week out. Hopefully, you've got your costumes ready for our Costume Contest. If you haven't done so already, please be sure to RSVP for the event and sign up to sponsor a trunk for our Trunk or Treat. Passing out candy is fun! If you missed the email, check out this link to the flyer! There will be lots of games, candy, and fun! You won't want to miss it.
We continue to make progress toward our fundraising goal. We are at 40% toward our goal and would love your support. Visit Tustin Connect PTA and our Maverick 180 campaign to learn more and be a supporter.
Also, be on the lookout for new spirit wear ordering opportunities as well.
✍️ Elementary Information ✍️

Maverick Hangout: This Wednesday, October 30th is Maverick Hangout from 12:30-1 pm at the K-8. Fun Times!
Trunk or Treat: The time has almost arrived. One of the best days of the year is almost here. This Tuesday is Trunk or Treat! You won't want to miss it. So be sure to join your teachers, staff, and Mr. Fineberg this Tuesday at 5 pm. There will be games, contests, food, and more! Can't wait to see what awesome costumes and great games are in store along with the Trunk Treating! We'll see you there!
Library Visits: Our Librarian Mrs. Vukov will be out for an extended period of time. 4th-6th graders, we will likely need to change your time. Stay tuned for next times while she is out. Students willl continue to come to the library. Mrs. McCourtney will let you know of any changes moving forward.
Upcoming Assessments: We will continue to complete the student mid year assessments through November 1. Students will be completing these assessments several times this year in order to monitor progress and address student needs. All assessments will take place during required class times. The one exception for 1st - 3rd graders is one assessment at home. This assessment is called "Literably" reading assessment. Next week students will continue with STAR testing. Stay tuned for more information from your classroom teachers.
😃Middle School Information😃

PE on Wednesdays: Reminding all that 7th graders have PE on Wednesdays along with all our K-6 students. The 5th and 7th graders in particular are building up for the physical ftness exam in April. It includes:
- Aerobic Capacity - measured with a mile-run
- Flexibility - measured using a shoulder stretch and trunk lift
- Abdominal Strength - measured using curl-ups
- Upper Body Strength: measured using push-ups
Snacks, Snacks, Snacks: Snacks are a popular choice during the school day for our TC Middle Schoolers. Please consider donating to the TC Snack Shack. Your middle schooler will appreciate it. :)
In Person Lab Support: Mondays from 10-12 students have the opportunity for additional support and socialization time. They can get support with their work, meet up with friends to collaborate on projects, or just get a jumpstart on the week.

Golden Touch Awards: Monday is the last chance for high school students to nominate a favorite teacher or staff member for the Golden Touch Award. This is your chance, students, to recognize those who’ve made a real difference in your life. Two staff members and their nominating students will be selected from each high school to attend the Golden Touch Awards ceremony the morning of December 12th. Let your voices be heard! Tech Support Thursdays: TCHS have tech support in the office from 10 am - 1 pm. Come by if you have any questions/concerns. We are here to help and excited to be able to offer this drop in service.
IVC Spotlight Week: Irvine Valley College (IVC) would like to send a special invite to all high school students to participate in IVC Virtual Spotlight Week. Spotlight Week is a virtual informational series tailored for our local high school students, parents, and guardians. Daily sessions will be offered virtually starting Monday, November 18th, from 4:30 pm to 5:30pm, covering a new college topic each day. You can attend one or all sessions. Please see the flyer for more details and to register.
Counselor Corner: Resources and link to workshops and more!!!
In case you missed the last Principal/Counselor Coffee and PTA meeting where we learned more about Executive functioning and got some great strategies for parents and students, you can watch the presentation which begins at 29 minutes and 11 seconds of the meeting.
As mentioned previously, Mrs. Halili will continue serving our students in Mrs. W's place. We are excited to have her as she shares a wealth of experience and has been cross training to prepare for the transtion over that past couple of weeks. She had a great first full week and we appreciate her sharing her expertise. As shared previously, our Mental Health Specialist, Mrs. J has a couple of great resources for our families. She'll be talking more about them in the coming months as Principal/Counselor Coffees get started. In the meantime, this is some great stuff for families.

Free Online Tutoring Available for K-12 Students
Brainfuse HelpNow is an on demand, anytime, anywhere eLearning platform available for all ages and levels. Last week, it was announced that every Californian can now access free online tutoring available 24/7 through a new initiative offering homework help in every K-12 subject and skill-building resources for K-12 and adult learners.
Real-time homework assistance can now be accessed 24/7 here and on the websites of any of the 1,130 local public libraries around the state – click on the “HelpNow” link to reach a one-on-one tutor. The pilot program led by the State Library offers assistance in Math, Language Arts, and other core K-12 subjects in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog. There’s no age limit to who can use the service. Adult learners can also access writing assistance, citizenship resources and other tools.
