It was so wonderful to meet with you all over conferences and discuss your amazing kiddos! I appreciate everyone taking the time to discuss your student's work and ways to keep them motivated and help them be successful. Thank you!
Bridges Math: We've reached division! This can be a stressful unit for the kiddos as we navigate remainders and tricky story problems. As I mentioned at conferences, I'll be sending home everyone's ZEARN login info on Monday. This way, they can practice math at home with (hopefully) a little more engagement than the workbook allows. ;)
EL Reading and ALL Block: We will start our new unit on Monday about animal defense mechanisms. Fourth grade is very research-heavy. Students will take some time learning about a variety of animals and then will choose one to write a report about. This is a very exciting and engaging unit and I think it will be a lot of fun for the class.
CHIRPS We spend at least thirty minutes every day learning ways to identify and express our emotions. The students are really engaged in the discussions and do a great job sharing during our circle time. This month, our focus is GRATITUDE.
Social Studies: Early Colorado History: We will be introducing the students to various famous Coloradans. Students will collaborate with a student from Ms. Goldtraps class to research a famous person from Colorado and will present their research in a "Wax Museum" More info to come!
We are also planning our first field trip to the Colorado History Museum. Volunteers will be needed! Once dates are set, I will send out more info.
Specials: Specials this week will be STEAM.
October 25th = Fall Festival
October 31st= Halloween. Students may wear their costumes, but NO masks, full face paint, gore, (scary, violent) or fake weapons.
