We had a great end of the week with cozy/comfy day and our Spring dance. As always, we are so grateful to our parent leaders in WFK for helping plan these special school event.

🎨 UPDATE FROM ART 🎨

Some of our talented Kegonsa Artists had their "Zentangles" and "Mindful Drawings" showcase at Heartland Farm Sanctuary's annual fundraiser event. Their mission to connect people and farm animals to experience growth, healing, and connection aligned perfectly with our Artist's exploration of the healing benefits of creating Art for the process, and not just the product. We enjoyed a little soft gallery opening where students and families were able to view their Artwork in a real gallery show before the big event. We are so proud of them!!

Increase in Meningitis Cases in the US

Recently, the CDC released a health alert indicating there’s an increase in meningitis cases throughout the US. Though not required for school, this is a reminder to check your vaccination records. I want to encourage you to take proactive steps to protect our families and the community from this preventable disease.

This is a Wisconsin disease surveillance category I disease, it must be reported IMMEDIATELY by TELEPHONE to the patient's local public health department upon identification of a confirmed or suspected case. Further information regarding meningococcal vaccines, disease, and case reporting can be found on the DHS website.

SASD’s Board of Education is seeking community members to serve on the Finance & Facilities Committee, Community Relations Committee, and Climate & Culture Committee for the 2024-2025 school year (May-April).
