Principal's Message
Greeting families,
I hope you enjoy this weekend with your family.
This week, we will continue our teacher/parent conferences. Please, contact your child's teacher if you need assistance. Of course, you may always contact me as well.
PTO virtual meeting will be on February 9th at 6:00 PM. They will share more details via their newsletter and Class Dojo.
Last, if you have a student already attending Biomedical Prep, you do not need to apply for the lottery again for that child. All our current students have a seat reserved for next year. I will let you know when next year's registration begins. You will need to apply only for siblings not currently attending the school. For more information about the application process, please visit our webpage https://www.dallasisd.org/domain/29137
If you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate and ask.
Thanks for choosing us!
Kind Regards,
Roberto Gonzalez

Uniform Policy
Please, remember to review our uniform policy. If possible, allow your children to wear tennis shoes as they do physical activity during the day, which can result in injuries if the child is not wearing appropriate shoes.
Also, remember the colors to wear on the pants, shorts, skirts, and jumpers.
Thank you so much for your help

Digital Library Resources
We want to share these digital resources with you. Unfortunately, we have yet to get access to some resources as we do not have a librarian, but I am working on it. Please email me if you need help with any resources.
Follow the link below to access Dallas ISD digital library resources.
Note: Your child's teacher can provide a district ID number.
Book Vending Machine
We are happy to announce that our Book Vending Machine has arrived. The school received this donation from the Alice and Michael Brown Foundation. We will open it for general use as soon as they come. The book vending machine is an engaging way of giving books away to our students as an incentive for reading and showing any of our Bio-values. It is also a measure we took to mitigate the absence of a library for this and next school year.
I will give you more details as soon as the books arrive.
Lost and Found
Notice that each picture has a number, so if you recognize an item, you can call us at the office and let us know which numbered item belongs to your children. Of course, you can also stop by the office to pick it up

Social and Emotional Learning (S.E.L)
We are proud to be a campus that works in Social and Emotional practices with our students. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) builds the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that both students and adults need to be successful in school, work, and life. They include things such as knowing and controlling your emotions, teamwork, understanding others, making positive choices, and resilience.
There are four signature practices that the school follows:
Morning Meetings
Mood Meter
Respect Agreements
Calming Corners
If you want to know more about our signature practices click HERE
Breathing Strategy of the Week
Last week we practiced square breathing as our SEL focus on the Morning Announcements. Practice this breathing strategy at home when your child needs a moment to calm down or refocus.
S.E.L Home connections
As you may have heard, flu cases have spiked and many urgent care centers as well as ER departments are overwhelmed with the surge of RSV and respiratory illnesses. Many schools are also experiencing an excessive number of absences. By partnering with Children’s Health School-Based Telehealth they can offer your students easy and convenient access to health care in both school and home settings.
Through the School Telehealth program, they also offer flu and strep testing, at no additional cost to families. The school nurses deliver the tests during the telehealth exam.
