A Message from Mrs. Lechner
Hello WFS and LDS Families,
I hope everyone had the chance to enjoy this beautiful weekend! It was great to see so many families and staff members attend the Trunk-or-Treat on Friday! It was a huge success! Thank you to the WFS PTO for organizing this special event. What a fun and exciting way to kick off the Halloween Festivities!
Monday, October 21st begins Safe Schools Week. As a district, we will participate in Spirit Week! Throughout the month of October, administration, school counselors, and teaching staff will collaborate on activities and lessons that promote acceptance, kindness, and respect, all working toward creating a positive and safe learning environment for our students.
I want to extend a big Congratulations!!! to all of our Yankee Fans!
Unfortunately, the Mets will not be advancing :( however, I will be rooting for the Yankees to win the World Series!
Have a wonderful week!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Lechner
Halloween is October 31st!
On Thursday, October 31, 2024, West Freehold School will hold an outdoor Halloween Parade. The
school parade will begin at 9:30AM and will take place in the front of our building. The students will exit from their assigned side of the building and walk across the front of the building while showing off their Halloween costumes. Students will then enter through the doors in which they exited.
We ask that all spectators remain in the designated area so that our staff and students can experience a safe and happy Halloween celebration at school. The outdoor parade will take place weather permitting. If the weather does not cooperate with us that day, students will show off their costumes with an indoor parade. Unfortunately, we will be unable to accommodate any parent spectators in the event of inclement weather.
If you are interested and able to be a spectator at our outdoor parade, we ask that you adhere
to the following guidelines:
● Report directly to the spectator area located in the front of the school. This area provides a
wide viewing area so that all spectators are able to have a great view and take pictures.
● Spectators should NOT be in costume. It is important that we can recognize all visitors on
school grounds.
● Visitors are NOT permitted in the building unless pre-approved by the Main Office staff. Any
pre-approved visitor must present a photo identification AND wear a Visitor's Badge while in
the building.
Students choosing to participate in the Halloween Parade are asked to follow the guidelines
below:
● Students may choose to wear their costumes to school. Please remember that students will be
participating in regular school day activities such as gym, art, and lunch. If your child’s
costume will interfere with safe participation in activities or if you are concerned about the
costume getting soiled, please send your child with a change of clothes.
● Costumes should be SAFE. All hair color and make-up should be applied at home.
● Costumes MUST NOT include weapons or imitation weapons such as swords, rifles, knives,
guns, etc. Please leave those accessories at home if they are part of your child’s costume.
If for any reason your child cannot participate in Halloween activities, please let the WFS Main
Office know. Also, remember that no food/candy, even treat bags, can be sent in to be distributed to the class or sent home with students. Any type of shared special “treats” should be nonfood related (i.e, stickers, pencils, erasers, key chains, fidgets, etc.)
As always, we appreciate your support and cooperation and look forward to this celebration with our
students.
