LAMBERT
October 2024 Edition
Dear Longhorn Families,
I sincerely hope all of our Longhorn families were able to rest and relax over Fall Break!
It's hard to believe, but we are quickly approaching the end of the first quarter of the school year. To help students stay on top of assignments and time manage, we are implementing a Q1 Missing Assignment Deadline this year. In the past, many students would allow missing work to pile up until the end of the semester and scramble to get it in at the last minute. Our hope is that designating incremental due dates each quarter will help students better manage their time and missing work, along with instilling in them the life skill of meeting deadlines. Please partner with us by reminding your student of this new expectation and encouraging them to complete all missing assignments from Q1 by Friday, October 11.
October is a busy month, so please read each section below to stay on top of all the events happening at Lambert!
Sincerely,
Amanda Thrower
Principal

PROGRAMS AND PATHWAYS NIGHT
Lambert will be hosting a night for parents and students to come explore all the specialized programs we offer to students. Families will have an opportunity to visit program classrooms, talk to program teachers, and tour our labs spaces. Current students in the programs will speak about the unique opportunities within the different courses and their leadership development.
We will have representatives available specifically for the following programs:
● Career Tech (CTAE)
● Fine Arts (FA)
● World Languages (WL)
● Advanced Placement (AP)
The night is geared primarily for rising 9th graders, but if your student is interested in any of the above programs, feel free to attend on the evening assigned to your last name (see graphic below for details).
This will also be a good opportunity for families to hear about all of Lambert’s Career Tech Student Organizations (CTSO), World Language Honor Societies, as well as Fine Arts, Visual Arts Honor Societies, and Performing Arts organizations students can get involved in at LHS. Make sure you visit our LHS Main Hall Exhibit where you will have an opportunity to tour various booths, talk to current student officers and see all that our students are involved in even outside of the classroom with their pathways and honor societies.
MIDTERMS - PLAN ACCORDINGLY
We highly encourage our families NOT to plan trips on midterm exam dates. Midterms cannot be administered early, and making them up after the long break does not set students up for optimal success. Thank you in advance for planning accordingly.
- Wednesday, December 18
- Thursday, December 19
- Friday, December 20
