Happy Sunday! Baby it's cold outside! Please take a minute to read through this parent newsletter. Creating this for you each week is part of my professional goal this year. I would love any ideas/feedback you have to offer me. Please join me for "Lunch with Laurie" on Janaury 22nd 11:30-12:30. This is a one hour virtual drop in when you can chat with other parents and myself about Winn. It's a chance to offer ideas, ask questions, and get involved with Winn Elementary. See you then!

Just a reminder about winter recess. Please help your child remember their winter gear each day. Helpful tips:

• If you can't see the grass, your child needs boots to go off of the blacktop.
• If you can't see the grass, your child needs snow pants to go off the blacktop
• If your family needs help providing any of these items, please reach out to your teacher or the office.
• Please label all of your child's items.
• If your child borrowed something from us because they forgot something, please make sure to return it to school.
• If you would like to donate items like snowpants and boots we could use those!

Our Winn Elementary Student Council is sponsoring a food drive this week for the "Hoops for Hunger" basketball game. We are collecting for the area food banks. Please considering sending in an item or a money donation ($1=1 pound of food!). The food drive is all week. Our third-fifth graders will be attending the CMU women's basketball game as part of this program.

Chrissy Walters is offering a weekly run club at Winn afterschool. She is opening the club for 3rd-5th graders. Mrs. Walters had an opportunity to talk to all of the students and you should have received a flyer where you can sign up. If your child is interested, please have them come try it out. It's a great way for your child to be active after school and make some new friends!
