Greetings PLA Families,
As I reflect back on this school year, I would like to thank all of our families for supporting the work we do here at school. It truly takes a village. This has been a wonderful school year and we are already looking forward to 2025-2026!
The last day of school is Wednesday, June 4th. Scholars will be dismissed at 11:20.
Please mark your calendars for our Back-to-School Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, August 12th from 4:00-5:30pm. Come out to school and meet your child's teacher, see their classroom, and connect with other families. We look forward to seeing you there.
This is our last Phalen Flyer for the school year. You can expect to receive future flyers the week of August 4th. The first day of school is Thursday, August 14th.
Report cards will be sent home on Tuesday, June 3rd. Kindergarten and 6th grade scholars will receive theirs after their promotion ceremony. All report cards for scholars in grades 3-6 will include ILEARN scores for the 24-25 school year. If you have any questions regarding their scores, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Parents of Kindergartners: Kindergarten grade teachers sent home information regarding the end of the year Kindergarten promotion ceremony. All scholars will participate. The ceremony will take place on Monday June 2nd from 10:15 am-11am. Doors will open at 10:00 for families. Space is limited. Please reach out to your scholars teacher if you have additional questions.
Parents of 6th Graders: Sixth grade teachers sent home information regarding the end of the year 6th grade promotion ceremony. The ceremony will take place on Friday, May 30th from 10am-11am. Please note that families are provided with only 2 (two) tickets per scholar due to limited space. Additional information about the ceremony's dress code and behavior expectations were also included in the informational flyer. Please reach out to your scholars teacher if you have additional questions.
The Marion County Health Department is is hosting several back to school vaccine clinics throughout July, August and September. Check out the dates and times below. This is an opportune time for our scholars to receive their vaccines before returning to school in August.
I have updated the PLA@93 School Supply List for the 25-26 school year. If you want to purchase supplies early, this is the list that will be distributed prior to the beginning of next school year.
Summer Advantage is PLA93's summer programming for our scholars. Take advantage of this opportunity to get your child involved with academic and enrichment programs this summer. Program dates are June 9 - July 11. The deadline has passed if you wanted your child to receive transportation. You can still register your child for Summer Advantage using the links below.

I have received inquires about a bus tracking app. This would allow families to track the school bus and its arrival time at your child's assigned stop.
