Welcome to the 24 - 25 school year!

I am deeply honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Del Rey Elementary. It is with great excitement that I join the San Lorenzo Unified School District. As we approach the start of the new school year, I am excited about the beautiful experiences and achievements that await us. I assure you of my unwavering commitment to Del Rey Elementary School. I will work tirelessly to provide a safe and nurturing environment for your children, ensuring they receive a high-quality education each and every day.

My journey in education began as a High School Science teacher in Santa Paula, California. After two years, my family and I moved to the East Bay, and I began working at Winton Middle School in Hayward. I then started my administrative career at Newark Unified School District. Throughout my career, I have always believed in the potential of every child to excel. I am committed to fostering a partnership between home and school that builds the confidence in students to shape their future, our community, and the future of our nation.

My recent conversations with staff and families have given me privileged insights into the core beliefs and values underlying Del Rey Elementary. To continue the tradition of equitable and challenging educational opportunities, I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet all students' needs and effectively communicate with parents and the community.

In closing, I want to inform you that my door is always open. I welcome your conversation and positive input throughout this year. Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work. I am excited to celebrate our collective successes during the 2024-2025 school year!

DEL REY BELL SCHEDULE

Packet Pick up -Tuesday August 13

Student packets will be available for pick up on Tuesday, August 13 at 4 pm on Del Rey's front porch.

Packet will include the following:

Class assignment
Student name tag and lanyard
Family pick-up placards
Student folder
School Calendar
Information from Del Rey's PTA

You will need to decide which gate your student(s) will be picked up at the end of the day (Via Mesa or Del Rey Park) and decide if your student will be allowed to walk home.

If you have completed data confirmation, you will also be able to see your student's teacher on the Aeries parent portal at 4 p.m. on 8/13.

Student Drop off/Pick up locations

All students are to be dropped off and picked up at either one of our locations always. You can drop your student on Via Mesa Gate or Del Rey Park Gate. Your student should have their lanyard with a sticker indicating where they need to go for pick up at dismissal.

Main office entrance is only for students arriving late (after 9 am) and early pick up for appointments.

PICKING UP EARLY-RECOGIENDO TEMPRANO

Need to pick up your student early?

Please park in the visitors parking lot and walk up to the porch and ring the bell for assistance.

If picking up student for dental/medical appointment, a doctor's note is required to clear attendance.
