From the Principal!
Thank you to all who joined us this morning for our monthly All Pro Dads meeting! It is always so wonderful to see such a great turnout so early in the morning! Next Friday we are going to be celebrating our 4th graders with extra recess for being the grade level with the highest attendance percentage for the last three week grading period! Way to go, Fourth Grade! We currently have four grade levels that are over 97% attendance for the school year which is fantastic! We appreciate all the hard work and efforts our families are putting in at home to have our students here at school each and every day!
We are excited to host our annual Veteran's Day Assembly on Monday! We ask that all of our staff and students wear Red, White, and Blue to show their patriotic spirit and help honor our Nation's heroes! For those of you that pre-registered to attend or helped family to pre-register, please make sure to have you driver's license with you upon arrival.
Please read through this week's newsletter for important dates, information, and exciting things happening around campus! As always, if we can help in any way, then please don't hesitate to reach out to our front office. Have a wonderful and restful weekend!

News from the Nurse
Parents,
Although we know the importance of having our students here at school, please keep your child at home when they are truly sick. Please do not send them back to school until 24 hours have passed without any fever, vomiting, or diarrhea and without giving medication.
State screenings for vision and hearing have been underway. If your child had difficulty passing either screening, you will receive a Letter of Referral to have your child be evaluated by his/her doctor, an eye, or ear specialist. After your child is examined, please return the doctor's portion of the referral to the nurse. Your prompt response will benefit your child.
Thank You, Greyhound Cheerleaders!
Early Act Club - Donations!
The Fabra Early Act Club is again recycling plastic bags for HEB and collecting shoes for Good for the Sole. If you have any plastic bags at home or shoes that no longer have a need for, please feel free to bring them to Fabra so we can help put them both to good use!
Thank You, Falcon Fathers!
Read to the Final Four!
All 3rd-grade classes are competing with over 300 elementary schools to see who can log the MOST READING MINUTES.
Parents: Make sure your child brings in their completed reading log with your initials EVERY MONDAY!

Library News and Updates!
CAUGHT READING
We've caught quite a few Falcons reading during choice time. When students are caught reading, they get a ticket with their name on it. Every Wednesday, I pick one ticket from the jar on the announcements, and that student gets to choose from some fun library swag.
Here is this week's winner, Arlis Langer, 4th grade.
LOST OR DAMAGED BOOKS
If your child damages a book, please have them bring it to me. I can fix a lot of things. Make sure they bring the damaged book into the library and show it to me, and we can figure out what to do about it. I emphasize to the students that I will never be mad at them over a book.
· If a book is lost, you have some options
· You can pay the replacement cost. I will send home an overdue notice with the amount on it.
§ We take cash- try to have the exact amount as I don't often have change.
§ We take checks made out to Fabra Elementary.
§ You can also pay using a credit card on RevTrak which you can find on our website.
· You can purchase a replacement that is used as long as it is a HARD COVER and in good or better shape.

Calling All Falcon Fathers!!!
Spend the day at Fabra!
Falcon fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures....Would you like to volunteer for at least one day each year? During the day, Falcon Fathers may read to a classroom, play at recess, help out in P.E, eat lunch with students and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. On the day of their participation, Falcon Fathers are given a brief review of their involvement and get to wear an official Falcon Father t-shirt.
Please limit your initial sign-up to only ONE date, and additionally sign-up for the "Waitlist" slot if you would like to be notified of last minute openings that would allow you to participate again.
