Maple Ridge Update

Dear Maple Ridge Families,

I hope you have all had a great first couple months of school. I love coming to Maple Ridge every day to work with all of the amazing faculty members, students, and families. We are so grateful for all of the support you give to our school and students!

We have SEP conferences December 5th. Please look for an email from your student's teacher for signups. We look forward to seeing you and discussing all of the great progress our students are making!

It is getting to be that cold time of year! Please help your student come to school dressed for the weather of the day so that they can safely and comfortably enjoy recess. In winter months, students are welcome to bring boots to change into for recess. Please label all coats, jackets, hoodies, and other gear with your child's name so that items can be easily returned when dropped or misplaced. All healthy children will be expected to go out for recess except in extreme weather conditions (wind chill, rain, snow, etc.). A healthy dose of fresh air does wonders for a child's ability to learn! If your child cannot participate in recess for health reasons, please send a note to this effect.

Please be considerate and safety conscious as you drop off and pick up students at school. The winter months see an increase in the number of cars. Remember to help with the flow of traffic by using the outside pick up lane for pull through only, keeping the crosswalk area clear. Please use the parking stalls if you need to leave your vehicle or enter the building. Also, please remind your children to use the crosswalk. Safety is our number one priority!

In the event of a major weather event (severe storm, power outage, snow day, late start, etc.) Nebo School District's notification system will be used to notify you in the form of an automated phone call, text, or email. For this information to reach you, it is important that you keep your contact information current within the Infinite Campus system. Information will also be posted and updated on the Nebo School District website at www.nebo.edu.

Maple Ridge Christmas Choir

All parents and families are invited to attend our Maple Ridge Christmas Choir Concert in the auditorium on December 11th. The performance will begin at 6:00pm. All singers need to arrive at 5:15pm. Doors will open at 5:45 for parents and family to come in. Please have Students wear white or cream shirts with black or jean bottoms. They can also wear Santa hats or festive Christmas headgear.

As we approach the final stretch of our choir practices, we would kindly like to emphasize the importance of timeliness for our next two rehearsals. (No rehearsal November 27th due to Thanksgiving break.) We only have two more practices left, and every minute is crucial as we work together to prepare for our upcoming performance. When students arrive late, it delays the start of our practice and limits the time we have to rehearse as a full group. To make the most of our limited time, we kindly ask that your child arrive on time, or even five minutes early, to our next two practices. This will ensure we can start promptly and use every moment effectively.

Hello Maple Ridge Families,

We want to wish each of you a Happy Holiday season! We want to thank you for your continued support of the PTA and Maple Ridge Staff. We are grateful for you and couldn't do what we do without each one of you!!

We only have a few announcements:

1. The trees for Wish Upon a Star for the teacher's will be up December 3rd filled with stars. Each teacher has written items they are wishing for on stars that may include: items for future lesson plans, classroom supplies, gift cards, or some of their favorite things. This is to help take the guess work out of what to gift your teacher.

2. There is no PTA meeting in December. Enjoy your family and the holiday season!

3. Our next meeting will be January 14th at 9:30 am in the faculty room. We need to start compiling a list of nominees for the 2025-26 PTA board. We would love everyone to come and give input!
