A Note from Your Principals
March Attendance Data
A review of our March attendance data calls for some celebrations!
- We have 285 students with "perfect" March attendance; being present all 19 days offered! 6 of these students were randomly selected for a special principal "lunch bunch"!
- 44 students are considered "chronically absent". That's about 9% of our student population and while we'd like to see this number closer to 5%, it's been steady since December!
- Each day last month we had an average of 95.23% of our students present. We were excited to have this statistic return to over 95%!
- Grade 5 had the highest daily attendance with 96%, followed closely by Kindergarten! Historically Kindergarten has struggled with attendance, but this year, our Kinders are ROCKING IT!
As we move into April and the "home stretch", here's another tip to help end the year strong!
Tip:
Whenever possible, schedule doctor, dentist, and other appointments outside of school hours or during school breaks, early release days, or weekends. If an appointment must be during the school day, try to choose a time late in the afternoon so your child misses as little learning time as possible.
Why This Matters:
✅ Minimizes Classroom Disruptions – Leaving early or arriving late can cause students to miss key instruction and classroom activities.
✅ Builds Strong Attendance Habits – Prioritizing school time reinforces the importance of consistent attendance.
✅ Reduces Catch-Up Stress – Missing even part of a school day means catching up on missed lessons, which can be challenging for young learners.
By planning ahead and choosing appointment times strategically, parents help their child stay engaged, maintain strong attendance, and maximize learning time! 🏫📚💡

SBAC/NGSS Testing (Grades 3-5)
Our SBAC/NGSS testing will begin the week of April 28th and continue through May 15th. Grade 3, 4, and 5 students will participate in this testing during the first part of the day (8:45-11:45). We are asking our families to avoid scheduling any doctors appointments or other things that may cause disruptions to this part of the day.
Our teachers and students have worked SO hard this year and we want to set them up for success in showing their personal best!
