Service Learning at California State University, Bakersfield
Welcome to our November service learning newsletter! Our campus is overflowing with students and faculty gaining a diverse and quality education by engaging in service learning. Please continue to read for upcoming opportunities for service, past events that show how important service learning is to our community, and what CSUB is doing to advocate service learning on our campus.
Service Learning Spotlight
The CSUB Nursing Department is an avid participant in increasing health education and awareness in the community. Students are actively engaged in activities that apply their classroom knowledge in a practical, service oriented way. Students and faculty collaborate with communities to provide health screenings, health education, vaccinations, as well as care and compassion to our communities both locally and internationally. Below are pictures from the CSUB Nursing Department on their summer trip to Mexico to increase community health while building their nursing skills.
Do you have a service opportunity that you'd like to spotlight in the S.E.R.V.E. newsletter?
Send me an email with the dates and times of your service activities. I will come out an pay your class activity a visit! You can also send me photos and an overview of your activity if you prefer.
