Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back to the school for the 2024-2025 school year. It was exciting to welcome your children back into the school and witness their joy and excitement in rekindling friendships and making new ones. The first week of school is one of the best times of the year.
As many of you know, St. Marguerite School has welcomed several changes for the 2024-2025 school year. We welcome Mrs. Laura Jorgenson into grade 2. Mrs. Jorgenson previously taught in Olds at Holy Trinity. We also welcome Mrs. Cindy Spence back as an educational assistant. Mrs. Olivia Shields has taken on the school counsellor role, and Mrs. Kennedy Barre has taken on a temporary contract in grade 1. We are excited to welcome them into our BEAR community and for them to share their gifts and talents.

Morning supervision for the 2024-2025 school year begins at 8:15 am, with our doors opening at 8:20 am.
Within the first week of school, each family will receive a Week at a Glance from your child's teacher outlining grade-specific events and instruction.
Our BEAR Canteen will open for service on September 3, and we will send out our hot lunch program order forms during the week of September 9th.
Middle School Athletics begins with Volleyball and Cross-Country running during the second week of school. Before students can participate, permission forms must be completed on RYCOR.
September 10 is School Picture Day.
On September 12, we celebrate our opening school mass at Our Lady of Peace Parish at 9 am. All are welcome to attend.
On September 13, we will host our New Student and Staff lunch in the BEARS Den.
In September, our school community will participate in Tipi teachings with our Division Indigenous Education Team.
On September 20, our school community has professional development, with no school for students.
On September 27, our school community will build greater awareness by participating in school-wide Truth and Reconciliation activities. We will also recognize Orange Shirt Day to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30.
On September 30, we are closed to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
St. Marguerite has continued to focus on maintaining a safe, caring and welcoming school community. We want all our students and families to feel a part of this fantastic community. Working together to care for and love one another, we know we will have a wonderful school year together.
We are always grateful for our parents' support and limitless help. We encourage you to become involved in your child’s education. We are always eager to welcome parent volunteers who may volunteer in several areas and serve on our school council. We welcome our families to attend the many school events during the school year.
As a school community, we are excited to see what the 2024-2025 school year brings. We look forward to witnessing the development of your student (s), celebrating their successes, and continuing to develop strong relationships with our community.

Order forms go home about once a month. Orders must be paid for in cash or cheque at the school by the due date on the form. No late orders are accepted. Please make cheques payable to St. Marguerite School
