Final DramaFest Information! (May 9th)
Here is the final update ahead of LIS's annual DramaFest. We look forward to welcoming everyone to LIS and celebrating the incredible talent of our learners, who have dedicated countless hours to rehearsing and preparing for their performances!
Please have your child bring their costume to LIS on their performance day. (Mr. Rogers, Mr. Bown & Mr Wells’ classes should wear their costumes to school on their performance day since they have an early morning show.) Other classes will get changed at school as instructed by their teacher.
The only entrance to the school will be the outside gym doors (on the west side of the school). Please check the list below to see when your child performs. Please do not enter the school using any other outside door other than this entrance for safety reasons. *** DOORS OPEN 10 MINUTES BEFORE EACH SHOW. ***
The lights in the gym will be turned off when the performances starts so we appreciate you being there on time. Tickets are not being used for Division 1-13 shows.
Also, we ask that you please refrain from taking any photos or videos during the performance. It is a distraction for our performers and others in the audience. We will welcome families to come and take some quick photos after the entire performance is finished in the stage area.
*** Donations will be accepted at the door to help fund this June’s AIR BAND and future drama productions. ***
Please note that food and drinks are not allowed in the gym aside from water.
Tickets for the ‘Tales from the Twilight Zone’ Friday evening show will be sent home on Monday with more information.
See you at the show!
Mr. Michalopoulos

Attendance
We ask parents/guardians to call the school before 9:00 am at (250) 245-3351 or email Info.LI@sd68.bc.ca to notify the school of your child’s absence. Please follow up with a note to your child’s teacher when your child returns to school so the teacher can address any missed work, homework issues, etc. Also a reminder that if students need to leave early, they should be signed out in the main office.
School Closure
The following is a reminder about the NLPS school closure procedure for students.
If schools are closed due to snow, or any other weather-related problems, announcements will be made on local radio stations (WOLF 106.9 FM, WAVE 102.3 FM, and 91.7 COAST FM) by 7 a.m., or earlier, on the day of the closure. Please do not call the radio station – tune in and listen for the announcements, which will be made on a regular basis.
In addition, the district will post the information on the district’s website, Twitter, Facebook, and mobile app. Families may also receive a message through the School Messenger notification system via phone, email, or text. Please keep in mind, however, that there may be situations where this is not always possible, for example, power outages or technical problems. The most reliable method is to listen to the local radio stations.
