College and Career Readiness Standards for Juniors- Deadline Approaching
In October, all juniors were given information about the College and Career readiness standards required by the state of Pennsylvania. Juniors were informed that by the end of the first semester, each will need to upload the required 8 artifacts to demonstrate college and career readiness. All juniors received reminders throughout the semester about uploading artifacts.
The artifacts are assignments, lessons, or responses that focus on the PA Career Readiness Standards:
- Career Awareness and Preparation
- Career Acquisition (Getting a Job)
- Career Retention and Advancement
- Entrepreneurship
Please note that these standards are primarily addressed through academic classes. Each course has an assignment that meets one of these areas. Often, teachers will remind students to upload their assignments. There are also free responses that students can complete to meet this requirement.
We will be sending reminders to students about this requirement, and students who do not have 8 artifacts will be invited to mandatory lunch and learn sessions. Students can monitor their progress through Naviance.
Please click the link below to go to the counseling page for more information regarding the college and career readiness portfolio, including a list of eligible assignments and upload instructions.

Freshman Seminar
All Freshman attended freshman seminar throughout the first semester. As a group we have reviewed executive functioning skills, growth mindset, and stress management. Students have been given strategies to apply to their daily school life.
Students had a great time at the Freshman Seminar Celebration where they participated in fun games and activities to review and apply the skills taught throughout the semester. We have enjoyed getting to know our freshmen in each session, and we look forward to their continued success throughout high school.
