Stanwood Middle School
Family Message - September 10, 2022
Good morning Stanwood Middle School Families!
This week as our students got down to the business of school--learning--we also took steps to further their empowerment of learning by reinforcing and teaching expectations throughout the school. Students took an hour of the morning on Tuesday to learn what the expectations are in all areas of the school--cafeteria, health room, outside, bathrooms, hallways, bus lane, foyer, and library. On Wednesday, students also practiced an evacuation drill and learned the importance of safety. We will have monthly drills to practice safety around Stanwood MS.
We continue to be impressed with the strong start our Spartans are showing the first six days of the school year; in addition to going over behavior expectations, we also made sure our students know how to show P.R.I.D.E. throughout the day and in all that they do. Please see the attached two slides that further explain the frequently asked questions regarding expectations and what P.R.I.D.E. means to our school.
Sports
Our seasons are underway! Both Girls Soccer and Cross Country started practicing this past week. We are finalizing schedules. This year, transportation continues to be problematic. We are working to have buses as often as possible; however, there might be games in which we need to use vans and have parents drive their own Spartan. Please fill out this form and return to the school if you are able to drive your Spartan to an away competition.
This year we are excited to add another sport for 6th graders to be able to participate in. If you are interested in having your 6th grade Spartan, please fill out the following form:
Stanwood Middle School Girls Soccer or Cross Country Registration
If you have any questions regarding transportation or 6th graders in cross country, please email Holly Christmas at hchristmasharris@stanwood.wednet.edu or Barbara Burton at bburton@stanwood.wednet.edu.
Please call the school if you have any questions!

We enjoyed the opportunity to photograph your students today... lots of smiles, check out their ID card!
If you missed an opportunity to purchase photos, you can still send your order in to the school up until next Wednesday. Just have your student drop it off in the office. Or, if you prefer, you can place an online order using the link below. Important - do not fill out the online form if you already submitted a paper form.
Once again, thank you!
