Erieview Elementary School Planned Closure Celebrations
With the pending closure of Erieview Elementary School at the end of this school year, the ALCS is planning to commemorate the building and those in our community with deep connections to it, in a variety of ways. More specific details regarding these activities will be shared in the future, but the community can expect these commemorative actions:
- The Board of Education will pass an official resolution to close the building at the April meeting. We will be honoring Erieview staff at this meeting as well.
- The building will be open for walkthroughs on Monday, May 26th, before and after the City’s Memorial Day Parade. Specific times will be shared in the future. The ALCS hopes to provide this added opportunity to walk through Erieview while first and foremost honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the City’s annual Memorial Day celebration. Please consider joining us for this tour and tribute to Erieview.
- Student picnics are planned to take place on the grounds as we approach the end of the year.
- A final “clap-out” at the end of the school day, on the final day of school, Wednesday, June 4th, will take place for all students. We invite anyone who at one time or another attended Erieview to join this celebration.
Erieview will forever remain in the hearts of the Avon Lake City Schools family, and these events and activities will pay the appropriate tribute to our beloved elementary building.
