Message from the Superintendent
HAPPY SUMMER EVERONE!
Dear TPS Students, Families, Faculty, and Staff,
In the blink of an eye, another school year is over.
Depending on who you ask, today, the last day of school is a very exciting day! There is the hope of relaxation, sunshine, and good times with family and friends. The last day of school is also filled with bittersweet farewells, reflecting on the journey we've taken and celebrating the accomplishments and growth we've all achieved…together! CONGRATULATIONS to this TPS community for a great school year!
For our TMHS graduates and our TPS retirees, your time with us at TPS is now behind you. Thank you for the memories you have all given us that can only be described as groundbreaking, amazing, sweet, heartfelt, and unforgettable! The goodbyes we are sharing today are truly hard for all of us. But we know that in every goodbye, there is opportunity for a new start.
Speaking of a new start, as the school year comes to a close, the district will say goodbye to Assistant Superintendent Lori McDermott, who is moving on to a new opportunity. I know I speak for all of us when I say that Mrs. McDermott will be missed. We sincerely thank her for being a trusted collaborator with stellar work ethic and true dedication to the students, staff, and families of Tewksbury. (Please see her farewell message below.)
So, on this final day of school, both the Assistant Superintendent and I want to express our deepest appreciation for the hard work and resilience shown by our students, teachers, staff and administrators throughout the 2023-2024 school year. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer break and to enjoy the sunshine, make lasting memories, and embrace the opportunity to explore your own new horizons.
Sincerely,
Brenda & Lori
Farewell from Assistant Superintendent Lori McDermott
Dear TPS Families,
As my time in Tewksbury draws to a close, I wanted to take a moment to reach out to all of you and express my heartfelt gratitude. My last day here in Tewksbury will be June 28th, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in this wonderful community.
From the day I arrived, I was warmly welcomed, and that sense of trust and support from parents, students, and staff has been a constant source of motivation and joy for me. Partnering with you to support our students’ education has been a truly rewarding experience. The dedication, pride and unwavering support for our schools have been inspiring.
I have also been so impressed with the students of Tewksbury. Whether I was walking through schools, visiting classrooms, holding student listening sessions, or attending awards ceremonies, plays, concerts, and sporting events - positive attitudes, kindness and respect have always stood out. This is a true testament to the strength and character of this community. Tewksbury parents have so much to be proud of.
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as the Assistant Superintendent of schools in this special community. Thank you for your kindness, support, and partnership.
Although I am moving on, Tewksbury will always have a special place in my heart. Have a wonderful summer, and I wish you all the best in the future.
Sincerely,
Lori McDermott
HAPPY FLAG DAY!
