BSD Staff Updates

• All staff received an invitation to ParentSquare in August. If you didn't receive it, you can still sign-in at https://www.parentsquare.com/signin using your BSD email.
• There is a ParentSquare icon in Clever for students and staff.
• There is a ParentSquare quick link in the BSD Staff shortcuts on your browser <<<

• Basic Navigation Overview: This is an 8-minute video providing an an overview of navigating ParentSquare (meant for teachers/coaches but a good overview for all users)

• Getting Help in ParentSquare: This is a 3-min video on getting help with ParentSquare.

As you might imagine, these calendars are expensive to produce. In an effort to be more efficient with District resources and minimize waste, we are only sending them home with the YOUNGEST student in the family again this year.

Copies are available for staff. Please check with your office team about copies for staff.

Per my email, there is an error in this year’s calendar in October. October 25 and 31 are regular school days - NOT non-student days. The November calendar is correct: November 1 is a non-student day and November 7-8 are conferences.

TEACHERS: You will be getting calendars and a list of students in your elementary classroom /secondary homeroom who should receive calendars. As you distribute the calendars, please consider having your students mark out the incorrect information on October 25 and 31 to help minimize confusion for families. Thank you for your help (and sorry for the extra work!).

There will be lots of district-level communication going out about this error this month.

The following policy was presented to the board for a first read:

• Policy 3241- Student Discipline

Other Business:

• The 2024- 27 Bremerton Education Association Cooperative Working Agreement was ratified by the Association on August 28, 2024 and approved by the board during the September 19th meeting.
• The Teaching for Learning team provided a presentation on Summer Learning and Professional Development.
  
• Director of Technology, Nikhil Gautam, presented a technology services update including a Cyber Security plan.
