A Message from Principal Hann
"Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11." ~ B. Obama
Scorpion families,
This past Friday, September 6, progress grades were posted in ParentVue. This is a great opportunity to review your child’s academic progress and have conversations about their achievements and areas for growth. If you haven't already done so, please log into ParentVue to check their grades and stay informed about their progress this semester.
Our Commitment to Safety
We remain steadfast in our commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. Unsafe behaviors, including any form of student altercations, will not be tolerated. Rest assured, appropriate consequences will be applied to maintain a secure atmosphere for everyone. We encourage you to discuss with your child the importance of making positive choices and supporting a safe school community.
Celebrating Our Successes
We have so many wonderful things happening at school that we can all celebrate! Our fall sports teams have had a fantastic start to the season, and it's inspiring to see our students' dedication and teamwork. In the classroom, students are engaging in real-world learning experiences that connect their studies to life beyond school. Our teachers and students are working incredibly hard to create and maintain a vibrant culture of learning, and we are proud of the progress being made.
No School on Wednesday, September 11
I wanted to remind you that there will be no school on Wednesday, September 11 as it is our first Learning and Collaboration Day for our staff. On this day, our teachers and staff will engage in professional development and collaborative planning to continue enhancing the educational experiences we provide for your children.
Finally, as we approach September 11, it’s important to take a moment to honor Patriot Day and remember those who tragically lost their lives during the events of 9/11. This day serves as a reminder of the resilience and strength of our nation and the importance of unity and compassion in our communities. We encourage you to reflect on these values with your family and to remember the fallen heroes and all those impacted by that day.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school a place where every student can thrive. Together, we are creating a positive and productive environment for all.
Wishing you a great week ahead!

Cross Walk Safety on Sherman
We have received MANY concerns from Basis families regarding our students jaywalking from the North Sherman gate at DE to the Rec Center. Students should be using the crosswalk at the corner. We have had security out there to redirect students to the crosswalk but continue to have students who ignore the request. We are working with GYPD to adjust pedestrian traffic flow when leaving campus. More information will be communicated in the coming weeks.
Please speak to your children about the need for safety when crossing the street.

Chromebook Device Protection Plan
*This is the last week to purchase the Chromebook Device Protection Plan (DPP) for this school year.
Students having issues with their Chromebook need to contact the library. Many issues can be solved through tips and tricks on the Library website. Students are required to have our campus technicians do any and all repairs to their device. The Chromebook Device Protection Plan DPP is a great way to ensure these repairs are covered. This coverage does need to be renewed each school year. DPP must be purchased by Monday, September 9th.
