Principal's Message
Welcome to the New Year at Chloe Clark Elementary!
Dear Chloe Clark Families,
Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you refreshed and ready to begin another exciting chapter with us. As we welcome 2025, I am thrilled to share some wonderful news! Chloe Clark was recognized by OSPI and the State Board of Education and received two Washington State School Recognition Program awards for:
high growth in ELA and Math proficiency for the 2022-2023 school year AND for high growth in math and regular attendance for the 2021-2022 school year. The state recognizes schools for making strides to improve outcomes for students by closing the gap and showing growth and achievement. Our banners will soon be displayed in the main hallway.
This honor reflects our staff's dedication, our students' hard work, and our families' unwavering support. We are so proud of this accomplishment and grateful to be part of such a strong, collaborative community. #WASchoolRecognition
As we embark on the second half of the school year, we remain focused on fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported to reach their full potential. From academic growth to social-emotional learning, we are committed to equipping every child with the tools they need to excel.
Some key reminders for the new year:
- Routines: Consistent routines at home and school help set students up for success. Please ensure your child is arriving on time and prepared each day.
- Communication: We love hearing from you! If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out.
- Celebrations: Let's celebrate the small wins together. Whether it’s mastering a new skill, showing kindness, or demonstrating perseverance, every step forward is worth recognizing.
Thank you for your partnership in making Chloe Clark a place where students are excited to learn and grow. We look forward to a fantastic year ahead, filled with learning, laughter, and shared success.
Warm regards,
Loretta Duncan

Counselor's Corner
Divorce or separation is a complex, hard experience for families. Sometimes that can have an impact on students as they adjust to a new family dynamic. If your family is experiencing divorce or separation and you feel like your student could use some support, I'd like to invite them to join my Banana Splits lunch group for students who's families are changing. There is no curriculum or specific topics, rather just an opportunity for students to eat lunch with other students who may understand how they feel. We read stories, play games, and chat about whatever students would like to talk about. If you would like your student to participate please send me a parent square message or email at vchontofalsky@steilacoom.k12.wa.us.
Sincerely,
Mrs. C
