In honor of National Native American Heritage Month and MPS American Indian Awareness & Family Involvement Week, our artists in residence will lead students in creating an art project:

• Wóokiye Wiŋ (Ojibway/Dakota) will work with kindergarten.
• James D. Autio (Ojibwe) will work with first grade.
• Gordon Coons (Ojibwe/Ottawa) will work with second grade.
• Graci Horne (Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota/Hunkpapa Lakota/Dakota) will work with third grade.
• Marlena Myles (Spirit Lake Dakota/Mohegan/Muscogee) will work with fourth grade.
• Angela Erdrich (Ojibwe) will work with fifth grade.

Anwatin Middle School will host an open house for fifth grade families as well as the Taste of Anwatin community event on Dec. 7 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Enjoy food, concerts, and student showcases. More details to come!

Anwatin is Kenwood's pathway middle school. The Kenwood Site Council invites you to learn more about Anwatin on Dec. 12 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Kenwood. Two families with kids currently at Kenwood and Anwatin will share their experiences. Pizza and childcare will be provided!

This helps Kenwood to secure Title 1 funding, but only if we receive completed applications by Dec. 15! Please submit the application at https://LINQConnect.com. Hard copy applications in English and Spanish are available in the main office.
