WHS Students, Parents, and Guardians,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the final days of summer. As we prepare to embark on a new school year, I wanted to take a moment to extend a warm welcome back to both our returning families and those joining us for the first time. Below you will find some useful information to start the school year.

For those of you that are new to WHS, The Westwood Weekly goes out every Sunday at noon and contains school updates, important news, and school celebrations. It is great source of information for all things Westwood High School.

The school year is right around the corner. The entire WHS staff and I feel privileged to be a part of this school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to being your partner in your child’s education.

Information was sent via email last week regarding the new cell phone procedures at Westwood High School. As a reminder, beginning this fall, cell phones will not be allowed during instructional time. They can be used before school, between classes, at lunch, and after school. As partners in your child's education, we kindly ask for your support in enforcing this new rule. By working together to limit cell phone use in the classroom, we can create a more productive and enriching educational experience for all students. I have attached a copy of the cell phone policy for your review.

If you need to make schedule changes it is best to do it before school starts. Below is the link to making an appointment with the counseling departemnt to make changes to your schedule:

Students with the last name beginning with A-L sign up with Ms. Moffett. Students with the last name beginning with M-Z sign up with Mrs. Young.

The south lot of Westwood High School is reserved for student parking. Student should not park in the North lot or behind the school near the welding and auto shops. In addition, students should have a parking pass for thier vehicle if they plan on utlilizing the school parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation.

Westwood High School is a closed campus. This means students are to stay on campus during the school day unless they have permission to leave from a parent, a POA lass, or dual enrollment. The most common occurance is during lunch. So everyone is on the same page, students are NOT to leave campus or sit in their car during lunch. Failure to follow this simple rule will result in disciplinary action.
